Dizzy is a new supporting character in Gears of War 2, and can be unlocked as a multiplayer character.
A former stranded turned reluctant soldier, Dizzy Wallin is torn between his distrust for the Coalition and doing what’s right for his family. As the Locust War escalated, Dizzy realized he was endangering his family by living outside Jacinto’s secure walls. Signing on with Operation Lifeboat, he joined the COG military in exchange for asylum for his wife and two daughters. Now an Assault Derrick driver, Dizzy may wonder if he traded one menace for another.
Dizzy may be reference to Dizzy Flores, a character in Robert Heinlein's novel Starship Troopers. They have a couple of similarities beside the name. Dizzy Wallin goes MIA at the end of the first act, while Dizzy Flores dies at the end of the first chapter. Additionally, Dizzy Wallin met his fate while Marcus and Dom were "on the way down" in their grindlift, while Dizzy Flores died on a retrieval boat -- according to the book, "Flores died on the way up."
