" @Duffyside said:QA work on Dev consoles, so they have their own connection to Live/PSN and cannot interact with the normal console network, which is why they don't have +100 friends on their QA console. Unless you specifically make and befriend 100 accounts, which is alot of work, you will never think of this. That and QA teams are very small generally speaking.Actually, most people I've played with have 100 friends, due to real life friends, tournaments, clans, and the like. I have just over 80 at the moment, so it's not a totally unheard of thing to have 100 friends. "" @TurboMan said:
" how the hell is something like this not caught by the QA team? Such a simple sounding bug to find in my opinion "To be fair, probably because most people don't have 100 friends? QA probably doesn't think to test for it, because who has 100 friends? The gaming press. That's who. "

DJ Hero 2: If It Locks Up, Ditch A Friend
Bummer, but at least this is a pretty exclusive glitch, and fairly understandable that they didn't catch it. I wonder if 100 friends is just too much for the system to handle as it is right now? Weird, but glad the fix will be soon.
this is an insanely odd little glitch. i have never wanted to have that many people on my friend's list anyway. unfortunately, the resultant problem that I have is that i am almost always left with very few friends online and playing when i am available.
So nobody who played this game had a full friends list you would think that at least one dev would be way into it. This is also something that should have come in QA, as testing weird scenarios like that is a basic part of the process.
On the bright side of this glitch, if you have XBox live, you'll get the patch and it'll be fixed. And if you don't have XBox live, you won't have 100 friends to worry about.
So this will be completely a nonissue once the patch comes out, which is really convenient. Unlike some game breaking bugs that screw over people who don't get patches *cough* Metroid Other M *cough*.
You don't know that QA caught it and it was then decided to ship with the bug or postpone the fix to a patch. Also yes testing with a full friends list is very important and I have done it many times, it is something we think of, and it is a very believable scenario. Titles with leader boards are hit just as hard during testing as any other area of the game.

" I REALLY doubt that QA missed that. I work in QA (not for Activision) and this is one of the first thing we test when we get a new game (btw entering 70-75 friend codes on a Wii is not fun lol). This looks more like a big Microsoft fail. I really can't understand how MS Cert missed that... "
I also doubt QA missed it. I would not blame MS as a whole and no comment on cert, that stuff is locked up.
" Programming is hard. Pour one out for QA. They don't get much love, but they are key to the entire operation. "
It is a miracle any game gets to a polished state. Thanks and QA pours a lot out for themselves, haha : )
