Wow, what a pile of crap. Should have left it at 4.

DmC Devil May Cry is a reboot of the series from developer Ninja Theory, featuring a redesigned Dante and a new take on the franchise's fiction.
Ninja Theory Is Definitely Developing A New Devil May Cry
I dunno, I kinda liked the vibe of the trailer. The reimagined Dante is alright, I just wish he had white hair. Thats the only thing that really turns me off. The emoness doesn't really bother me since its always pretty much been there. Maybe not as much as in the new trailer, but its been there.
while I agree the series needed an overhaul, not sure this is the way to go. I hope that the whole dark hair Dante ends up being something to the extent of this is a complete prequel before his demon powers awakened and that made his hair turn white (maybe at the end of the game). Who knows, could still be a really fun game in the end.
Dante looks like a douche bag and spends the entire trailer acting like a douche bag. I miss the old "cool" Dante. The one that was incredibly lame and stupid, but made me laugh because of it.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. Dante's killing robots from All if Full of Love.
can someone just buy out capcom already and strip all the good series titles away from them please... this is a joke.
" Exactly what an already increasingly homogenised games market needs.... another hack and slash game. "Yeah, all those hack and slash games in the past year are really clogging the market right? If anything, hack and slash games try harder to stand out of the crowd by doing something different.
Just what what used to be one of the best action series needed. A Western developer and heavy doses of Twilight.
Man, Capcom has been going down the shitter lately. First they ruined the Mega Man sub-series by replacing Battle Network and Zero with Star Force and ZX, then they ruined Resident Evil by not updating the controls and introducing a retarded AI partner and a sloppy, user-hostile inventory system, then they ruined Lost Planet by making all sorts of awful design decisions in 2, and now they're ruining Devil May Cry.
Wait, I just remembered what Heavenly Sword was. Those guys are making this?
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
" can someone just buy out capcom already and strip all the good series titles away from them please... this is a joke. "I guess you weren't paying attention to the part where the game is developed by NInja Theory.
" @vinsanity09 said:what? that's your opinion but there are 2 reasons why DMC3 is my favorite game, the gameplay and Dante for, like I said, his cockiness. so yeah, I really don't like the fact that they completely changed him. and I love what NemesisTheory said, he really looks like an emo Twilight reject" no, no, no, no, no. WTF have they done with Dante? he doesn't look like the cocky s.o.b. from DMC3 or the badass from the other games, he just looks like a little punk "He isn't supposed to be. If the game is a reboot of the franchise, something it desperately needed, than Ninja Theory isn't obligated to keep the the original design of Dante. Plus, he fucking sucked as a character, anything they can do to make him more tolerable is a plus. "
" @SnakeEyes327 said:Soooo, because he has black hair now, that makes him emo? Yeah, that makes complete sense. Do you even know what the word means? I think it's awesome that you watched that trailer and despite the game playing just like every other DMC game, with lots of flair, and shitty metal, you're more concerned about Dante's hair color. If he acts like a cocky shit head just like he did in the other games, does it really matter what the hell his hair color is?" @vinsanity09 said:what? that's your opinion but there are 2 reasons why DMC3 is my favorite game, the gameplay and Dante for, like I said, his cockiness. so yeah, I really don't like the fact that they completely changed him. and I love what NemesisTheory said, he really looks like an emo Twilight reject "" no, no, no, no, no. " @FourWude said:You'd be surprised at how many games truly end up falling in generic hack and slash territory. And with the exception of Bayonetta all the others somewhat failed, yes even God of War 3 failed to live up its own lofty standards." When you overcook a genre, no matter how hard you try to spice it up, it becomes stale. Look at the FPS market and what it's becoming.
If you look at the top of this head carefully you can see that the roots of his hair are starting to turn silver/grey. It's especially noticeable around the section that he throws the car. Maybe story device?
If this is like a 17 year old Dante or something then sure why the Hell not? As long as he grays out at the end and has a lot of the original Dante's characteristics, especially quit smoking. DMC has always been cheesy enough to have Dante quit smoking heroically.
I like this.
Dante looks like some street punk that you'd rather not fuck with lest you get a pipe to the head.
Besides hey, you can make up some back story for not having the white hair, big effin deal.
I'm not going to complaing about the new look and feel of the new Dante and DMC in general, since I'll just end up crying in a corner again. However, I want to know if anyone even wants a remake of the series.
Personally, if they want to do anything they should have done an origin story of Virgil, instead. I mean, we saw so little of his character in part 3 that it begs the question of what he was like as an adolescent. It's either that, or make a DMC game that explains how Dante's attitude changed so drastically in part 2.
The Character Design is pretty bad, I am all for a reboot but at least keep some familiar feel to the character. This is supposed to be Dante after all.
"crackin me up, but this comment speaks the trutha Devil May Cry reboot, made by Ninja Theory using Unreal Engine 3.
"
got damn it capcom.
I love how everyone is already shunning this game after only seeing a 2 minute trailer. So early in the development process, it's really too hard to tell what this game will end up like and how it fits into the series. Either way, look at the bright side...it will probably be better than DMC2.
A reboot will catch my eye and glad to see its in a Western studio so they could maybe relax the number of recycled bosses and the amount of damage they take. Good for Ninja Theory.
and I really don't know why you care so much about my opinion lol, if you liked that trailer then good for you. I don't.

Just a while ago I thought that if they just announced another game that seemed to be more of the same, I would lose interest completely.
So this definetly seems fresh, if a bit weird, and it's at least caught my attention. We'll see where it goes from here.
Dante seems like less of a completely unlikable, douchey twatbag in this.
Well, at least he LOOKS like less of one. But there's still that patch of white hair that needs to go.
There is alot more Heavenly Sword hate then I seem to remember. 'Course, I never got around to playing it myself, but I don't remember it being so widely hated.
Worst thing i've ever saw, they probally should just rename it to prototype 2, that's what it looks like. Mediocre.
The real Dante would never take fashion cues from Adam Lambert. As others have said, the Twilight comparison seems apt. More importantly--from a game play perspective, the fact that Ninja Theory is developing suggests a major step down for the series. Heavenly Sword was almost instantly forgettable.
Fortunately, we still have Bayonetta.
