    The Designated Marksman Rifle is a bridge between the infantry and sniper.

    This class of rifle must be able to extend the range of a normal assult rifle (500 meters) to about 800(meters).  The DMR combines the semi-automatic capability and the larger magazine size of an assault rifle with the accuracy and longer range of a sniper rifle.  While some DMR have a higher zoom scope, the DMR usually is equipped with aTrijicon 4X ACOG.
