    "Doc Ock" is best known for his appearance in the film Spider-Man 2, played by Alfred Molina.

    Data hidden on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 shows that Dr. Octopus was at one point planned to be playable.

    In the comics, a dying Dr. Octopus switched bodies with Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man #698. In issue 700, Peter died and Octavius (still in Peter's body) became the Superior Spider-Man until Peter Parker return and reclaimed his body.
