Dominic Armato, the voice actor with the voice of several game characters. Not Gromit though. That guy doesn't speak. Dominic Armato was born in Chicago, 18'th of November 1976. He is primarily known as the voice of
Guybrush Threepwood, the
protagonist of the
Monkey Island games by
Lucas Arts .
He had always been a big fan of adventure games - more specifically Lucas Arts games such as the first games in the MI series,
The Secret of Monkey Island and
LeChucks revenge. As he told an interviewer: He had jokingly discussed with a friend that Lucas Arts should hire him as
Guybrush Threepwood for hypothetical sequels to the first two games. Amazingly, two months later he was contacted and appointed for just that role - the role of Guybrush in the third game
The Curse of Monkey Island, and thus started his career as the humorous and witty pirate.
After 9 years of Monkey Island drought,
Lucas Arts and
Telltale Games decided to revitalize the franchise, giving Dominic the opportunity to finally return to his role of Guybrush Threepwood in
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and
Tales of Monkey Island.

- Dominic has a sister, Amanda Armato, who works as an actress and whom appeared briefly in the movie American Pie 2.
