I don't have a problem with either. A yarn can certainly be epic when the word is used as a synonym for story

DKC Returns is kinda generic. I love the Kirby name.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a hilarious name, as far as I'm concerned. I honestly don't think it's bad, though. It sounds interesting by its name alone.
 
Donkey Kong Country Returns, even though I'm geeked for it, just sounds strange. That's a better promotion line than a game title as you're revealing it, you know? "Donkey Kong Country returns in a brand new Wii game," and then name it something that would sound good as a franchise revamp. I'd even be fine with New Donkey Kong Country, or Donkey Kong World, as horribly unimaginative as those are.
 
I do think Returns is worse, name-wise, but it's not a cringe-worthy type of bad for me. I guess if they make a sequel, they could call it Donkey Kong Country Returns Again. The third game in the series could be Donkey Kong Country Returns Yet Again!

The DK name could have been better.  They should have called it "Donkey Kong Is Back Bitches!" or something rad like that.

Huh, guess I was so busy obsessing over the fact that we were getting Donkey Kong Country and Kirby sequels that I didn't even care what they were called. 

Epic Yarn is OK... except for the word Epic. Donkey Kong Returns is aweful, like New Super Mario Bros Wii. It's a good thing I buy games based on their content rather than their name.

I wouldn't be surprised if Donkey Kong Country Returns is just a early name, it will probably get renamed...  For Kirby's yarn, ya Kirby is definitely stuck with that one roflao.

Donkey Kong Country Returns definitely, but do have hype for each game.

DKC Returns is bad, but not horrible. If they called it DKC4 though, I would frickin' stoked.

It's an odd name, but I don't think it's horrible.

Skyward Sword however doesn't really have an epic enough feel for a Zelda game, and the style of the logo is equally cheesy.

I'm amped for both of them, but more so for the new DKC. That said, I don't mind Returns but it does limit them if they want to do a sequel. I don't know why they didn't just call it Donkey Kong Country 4 or even Donkey Kong Country Wii. They aren't very good either but you can just stick a 2 (or a 5 for the former) in front and you're done. Of course, if this is a one time deal, then I guess that's fine too...?

Guess they had to come up with at least one new monkey if they wanted to do DKC4. Now it sort of makes sense to call it Returns since its the cast from the first DKC. But still a horrible title.

When I read "DKCR" I think of "Donkey Kong Country Racing."

Its like they didnt want to put much thought into it but it gets the point accross.  I just wish for once, a developer would make a series continuation, like DKC or Sonic 4, but just use HD 2D graphics.  I want to see that.  Is that so hard?  Look how awesome Braid looked.  And that was an indy dev with limited resources.  
I would have named it one of the following. 
Donkey Kong Country 5, looks better than 4 
Donkey Kong Empire, sounds more awesome than a country 
Donkey Kong:  The Return, more epic 
Donkey Kong Galaxy, worked for mario 
Gurders and Barrels 
Donkey Kong World 
Donkey Konger 
Monkey Adventure

Gurders and Barrels Well, Girders aren't really confirmed yet, are they? Plus the Tiki are a more Tribal force, they probably don't have a city.

Donkey Konger Would be competitive with Junger for best game ending in -er concerning jungles
