Buy this on Steam *NOW* (55 dollar Deluxe Edition)

#1 Posted by Jayge_ (10221 posts) -

Steam is now offering Dragon Age: Origins (normal and deluxe editions) at slight discounts. 5 dollars extra for the Deluxe Edition as opposed to 15, with at least 15+ bucks worth of content (adding in that new DLC and whatever) packed in and tons of other shit. Hop on this, I have no idea if it'll last.

Sorry, the game breaks my computer so that won't be happening

Already did!  I love Steam.

I just canceled my amazon preorder and went with this.  $5 extra for more content?  Sold.

Not to mention..  no shipping or tax.

Why not just order it anyway and download it when you get your stuff up and running again? You don't have to have Steam installed to buy it. You can purchase it from their website.

I kind of want to wait for reviews though.  Hmm...

Just got to it! Thanks a lot for the head's up though. I pulled out of my Gamestop pre-order the moment I heard Steam was offering a DD version. Now I'm that much happier I did, since I'm saving some small change for my troubles.

Once again, Valve comes through!

Damn you kids and your fancy high powered computers. I get to pay $5 more for the probably inferior console version.

My computer components are a couple years old and work just fine.  You don't need the highest end hardware to play PC games.
#14 Posted by warxsnake (2650 posts) -

i just bought it cause the TC told me to

#15 Posted by General_D23 (1201 posts) -

My laptop can run it, but only at the lowest settings....

Graphics or content?

....Who am I kidding, content it is.
#16 Posted by ArbitraryWater (11909 posts) -
@Eisen: That may be true, but this computer that I am sitting at right now is 6 years old with minimal upgrades (it has a better graphics card basically), and I doubt my dad feels like letting me install games on his computer.

But dude, what about my fuckin cloth map?!

#18 Posted by BoFooQ (693 posts) -

Pc version will probably be best but I preordered my cophy for PS3 the other week.  I'm going to have to wait even longer but I will give me time to kill some people on MW2 first for a few weeks.  than between the 2 games I should be good till sometime nextyear.

Normally I'm not a fan of pre-ordering games, but... I did it. WOOT!

#20 Posted by IncredibleBulk92 (936 posts) -

Damn man did that pre purchase deal end already?  That Deluxe edition is £10 more, I'd buy it a £5 but not £10.  The game itself costs £30 for gods sake.  I think I'll wait a bit before ordering.  You never know what will happen to the prices on Steam

#21 Posted by Jayge_ (10221 posts) -

Sorry guys, it looks like it's gone back up to $64.99 now. Glad I was able to get the word out to a few people at least :-P

#22 Edited by Nictel (2429 posts) -

It's still €54.99 in Europe, who knows for how long though!

Also damn Steam for taking all my money! Those weekend deals and now this....

Thanks a lot for the heads up, man. Your post here saved me $10! I pre-ordered DA:O from EB Games a long time ago, but now that I ordered the Deluxe Edition on Steam, I can give the hard copy version to my wife who's also been looking forward to this, and now I also get the cloth map and the steam-exclusive ring, woo!

Really appreciate it, Jagye. Thanks a bunch!

You can't download a cloth map, so forget it.

Real men make their own. I've been collecting berries and flowers and brewing dyes for about 4 months now, they're plentiful in the woods behind my house.
#28 Posted by thecleric (793 posts) -

Gladly paid 65 for it, I'm a sucker for loot, and at this point after the Character Creator, and my brothers Gamestop bonus I should be able to start the game with.. like 8 items.

Any word if they're letting us preload? Seriously, this thing is 20 gigs, I'd like to preload.

Ah bummer. But my computer is...inoperable to say the least. Good thing I am getting a new one for the holidays!! Maybe I will buy it then.

I might have to do this now, because I just realised the UK collector's edition doesn't even come with the cloth map.  I am burning up with rage.

The best bit about the UK collector's edition though? "Plastic Collectors Box"!  Beat that!
#31 Posted by NoXious (1353 posts) -

Well - I heard it's because you British made a mess out of your pound yet demand cheap prices for your videogames !

But yea, it really sucks that the only region to get a mediocre Collector's Edition is the UK. Makes me wonder why us mainland Euro folk aren't being treated like kings with the current prices we're dropping down for games in terms of Dollars :/

I was so excited about this, but i just checked and in the u.k ( where I live) Its 10 £ more for deluxe version.

So Still worth it?
