Fuuuu I just got jumped on the road and somehow slaughtered - resulting in losing about an hour of gameplay including kicking Morrigan's mom's ass.

I decided to do the mages tower, and I always turn off auto save in games, and I saved at the beginning, and died at the very end fighting the last ogre 

I lost about two or three hours of gameplay once, but not from dying. I booted up the game and loaded up my last save before the game had a chance to connect to Bioware's store to see what DLC I owned. It loaded up the game and took all my DLC related items away from me, something I didn't notice until a few hours later when I had to reload an old save that still had the items intact :(

i pretty much quicksave every 20meters... 
 
learned it the hard way once when i lost like half a day of gothic3... never played the game again :D

i lost nearly 3 hours once. very annoying.
