Legacy of Goku is a decent game with many bugs

The Legacy of Goku is an action adventure, hack and slash type of game. It plays much like the earlier 2D Zelda games, as well as including puzzles in the game. The battle system becoming very boring and bland.

In this game you will play out the Saiyan Saga up until the Frieza Saga. There are also side quests throughout the game, giving you some more interesting things and trying to make the game more interesting. Some of the side quests, which you have to do, require you to kill something, or collect certain things, such as a womans cats and so forth. You will gain levels throughout your jouney to be able to fight foes through the game as they become stronger. You can either hit enemies or shoot a Ki blast at them, but Ki will also drain your energy. You will need to collect wing power to be able to fly, and when it runs out, you will not be able to fly.

The Legacy of Goku has a strong music score, as it derives from the same intro from the show, but in game music will sometimes appear very weak, and cheesy. The action and battles in the game just require you to hit the enemy, but hit detection is pretty bad, and doesn't ever hit the enemy when you want to. Enemies in this game are pretty strong as well, making this game very hard and very frustrating. All characters from the anime make some sort of appearance, and all boss characters are as they occur in the anime, from Raditz, Nappa, The Ginyu Force, and Frieza all appear. Goku will be the only playable character. The game is fairly short, as you can beat it within 7 hours easily. Boss characters have no health bars, making it hard to tell when they are almost finished, and boss characters are very unbalanced, as you will literally have to hit them thousands of times, and will take you a good 15 to 30 minutes to finish. They can kill you in a few hits as well.

The Legacy of Goku is definitely a look at for any DBZ fans, but isn't entirely a bad game, but has tons of bugs in the game to make it fall just short. You can definitely see the potential in the game, and will later show in the sequel "Legacy of Goku II". The game is not all bad, but still I would only recommend this to DBZ fans, others should stay away.
