Lets say there was gonna be a new dragon ball series. What would you guys do as the story line?
Dragon Ball
A plethora of video games based on the hit manga/anime series of the same name.
After Dragon Ball Gt
Someone reaches Super Saiyan 5. After that, someone else reaches Super Saiyan 6. Dragonballs are found (maybe).
Sorry, I'm not really that good at this.
The reason Dragonball started to suck was because everyone got way too powerful, then there was a new EVEN MORE powerful enemy, which the characters got even more powerful to defeat that guy.
If a new Dragonball series must be made, I say make it a prequel. Maybe about a bunch of kids just learning martial arts then deciding to look for the dragon balls.
... Everyone uses the Dragonballs to wish that all the events of GT NEVER HAPPENED, thus reverting back to the end of Dragonball Z. Where do they go from there? TeamFourStar takes over the entire DBZ franchise to do with as they please for all future arcs.
So ask them. I'm not really that good at this.

@Landon: Oh you mean like what happened when Goku was a kid.
Its sort of been done.
That's not at all what Dragon Ball was about. Bulma was searching for the dragon balls and Goku decided to help her. No one was just learning martial arts, not even Krillen when he showed up.

Cell wasn't fully destroyed by Gohan, he's been floating through space all this time until he is picked up by a crazy scientist and rebuilt as Mecha Cell...as you can tell, I'm Akira Toriyama.
Cell could fully regenerate from a single cell. If Gohan didn't kill him then he would have immediately came back stronger and finished off the rest of the warriors. Also, we see him in Hell later in the series. You're no Akira Toriyama.
A new evil appears, one that is somehow tougher than all the previous evils combined. While fighting the evil one (or maybe a henchman), Goku is injured and every single one of the side characters has to fight the evil one to stall until Goku arrives at which point Goku defeats the evil one. This will take around 50 episodes, people will punch other people, things will blow up, hair will become even more awesome and pointless exposition will be reiterated every 5 minutes. But I dunno I'm not good at this.
So, like, it turns out that everyone on Earth is a Saiyan and then they all go Super Saiyan (SSJ if you will) and then like they get in a big fight and blow up some stuff in the desert. Also, Goku uses a spirit bomb and misses then it turns out that the entire show has been a dream inside of a 13 year old's mind.
We Star Trek this shit and have someone go back in time and mess with regular Dragon Ball and create a movie out of it. Have Veegeta get pissed (he's alive right?) go back in time and pump red matter into the earth. Oh and lens flare.
@ArbitraryWater: You just described every episode of Dragon Ball Z. So clearly, you're pretty good at this.
Goku dies (again) they use the Dragon Ballz (sorry about that (not really)) to bring him back (again), and then Hercule does something silly.
Also, there is a fight that lasts at least four episodes.
Man, I wish GT was better than it was. Not the best way to end that...saga? I guess that's the right word. Even if that show just had a better cast. I mean, kid Goku? Again? So dumb.

the Dragonball Online game is suposedly canon that takes place 500 years or something after the events of the Buu saga. You could read up on that story.
And if I remember right, Dragonball Online cuts GT out of the canon. Akira Toriyama didn't have much to do with GT and just mercilessly wanted it chopped out of his new game.
On topic, if GT were to be continued as a separate continuity I think a good story would be Goku having to fight some sort of super powered alien from a different dimension. Sorry, I'm not too good at this sort of thing.
Honestly, you'd think the OP had never seen DBZ. "A new evil appears from a distant planet" has pretty much been the plot since Frieza. Well, except for Cell, I think he was from Earth. Good God, it's been a while since I saw anything Dragonball related except for the Abridged series.
@believer258: Cell was made on Earth, but the future? Or a different universe? No, that was Trunks. He came from the future. I think. At least older Trunks did. Yeah, he came from the DBZ equivalent of Biff 1985, but Cell was from that time line.

Why did you link to Dragon Ball? It's about Bulma (who is not a child nor knows martial arts) gets Goku (who is ONE kid who already knows martial arts) to help her find the Dragon Balls. The only other child main character in that series is Krillin, and he already knows martial arts too. So, where is the story in that series that describes what I just wrote?
I heard somewhere hes working on a new series thats supposed to take place after GT.@The_Laughing_Man: what new one?
Where do you go after GT? They already did everything. Earth has been destroyed numerous times. They traveled the galaxy, and though time. Killed the dragon's themselves. Everything has been done. Goku needs to rest... forever and so does the series. It had it's run. You can only destroy planets and revive dead people so many times until it is no longer compelling.
Wow uh, someone shows up, I guess. They kill thousands of people. Some minor characters try to fight him, but they don't have a chance and need to be rescued by Piccolo. But Piccolo is no match either, so Gohan shows up. He does pretty well, but then dies/ is defeated because we need Goku fanservice. Vegeta also makes a cameo so he can get wrecked, again. Then Goku uses the Spirit Bomb, destroys the villain, and everyone is wished back to life.
Forget that, they would never accept this plot line.
Let's just do nothing.
I rather have a open world RPG that has a story that isn't canon to the TV show and have it written by Akira Toriyama.
Same rules of the universe, but in a distant far off region that has no connection to anything in the originals. New everything.
I got it, Vegeta saves the world instead of Goku. Future Trunks comes from the alternate future (or present) and kills bitch-made Trunks with his sword. Then Vegeta and Trunks do a Father-Son Galick Gun and kill a fusion of all the coolest guys that have existed in the Universe (a fusion of Cell, Freezer, Cooler, Buu, etc.) and Vegeta becomes the most powerful Saiyan in the Universe.
The-fucking-end
What do I look like? A writer? I don't know!
Also, GT happened and I loved it! *hides in turtle shell*

I wonder if Bulma screams "ITS OVER 9000!" when Vegeeta bangs her.
Many a sleepless night have I lain awake asking myself the same question.
