Dark Souls in it's first week sold 280,000 copies in Japan. Dragon's Dogma has sold 330,000 copies in it's first week in Japan.
It's a pretty ridiculous difference for the platform breakdown down, being that 30,000 of 330,000 where for the 360. In japan Dragon's Dogma has sold 10 times as many copies on the ps3 than the 360. That's a little crazy even if the 360 is not so popular in japan.

Glad to see the game seems to be doing well. I've had a pretty good time with it and really hope for a sequel.

This is the game that most needs a sequel since Force Unleashed. Hopefully it happens and they don't completely fuck it up like they did with that game.

Yes! All the more chance to make an even better sequel.

@Totori: At this point, is it really that surprising to see PS games outsell Xbox games in Japan? It's been like that since 2001, it's hardly a new phenomenon. It's hardly even noteworthy now it's so common and it's expected of 100% of multiplatform releases.

That’s great news, I’m really into this game and could do with some extra DLC too!

It's Slightly More Western Monster Hunter. All Japan wants anymore is Monster Hunter.

That's actually pretty par for the course. The fact that the 360 is such a success without the support of japan in terms of sales is pretty incredible.

Glad to see the game's selling well though. I'd love to see a DD2 with a better story.

I'm glad the game is doing well but I am disappointed that it outsold a game of FAR HIGHER QUALITY.

Good, it needs a sequel, they got a lot right the first time but giving them another go at it would let them do some amazing things.

With a completely refined and polished sequel, a Dragon's Dogma 2 could be utterly fantastic.

Yeah obviously. But still; if this game was less like Monster Hunter, it would sell less.

I'm genuinely surprised, though with its superficial resemblance to Monster Hunter, maybe I shouldn't be.

Still, I hope this game gets another shot to hit it out of the park, Assassin's Creed 2 style. There are just a few things they would have to address to convince me to buy it.

That's actually a pretty good result for the 360.
It's because the 360 version has an RE6 demo I believe, the weekly sales for the console tripled from the usual.
