    Hey, I failed a mission with Quina where I was supposed to escort her to the far north-west, a place I haven't been yet. Is this a vital mission that I pass? The reward was only 4 potions.

    @aaronBLUEeyes:

    Escort missions are non vital. They are nice to boost your relationship level with the person and get some gold/xp on the way if you were going there anyway. But the same effect can be achieved by giving them gifts and killing a few monsters. Only "vital" stuff is main story stuff technically anyway.

    Also from what i understand the dead character you were escorting while do disappear from the world they do re spawn after a time, at least i believe so (second hand info).

    Yes, all important NPC will re-spawn after one weeks time in game. I have had have the Inn keeper and shop owners die and if you rest for 7 days in a row they will return. And if they have an escort mission, that will then also appear back on the notice board so you can attempt it again.

    And here I came, prepared with a library of Final Fantasy 9 knowledge. Only to be disappointed...

    Btw, any thoughts on the game itself? I'm kind of on the fence on buying Dogma.

    @TobbRobb: Definately get Dragon's Dogma! Me and my sister have owned it for few days now and we are both hooked on it like a drug! The game is wicked fun to play, the developers did some really awesome things with the game. I was on the fence at first too, but I did some research and played the demo right around the launch day.

    The game seems very simple at first, but there is a complex system of things going on that other RPGS have never even touched upon before. Forisntace, enemies are more prevalent at night and their AI is very good. Bandits actually have the same classes as users do and can do the exact same attacks. They even heal themselves!

    Another thing I like is the idea of creating items by mixing like items together to brew potions or create other gadgets the party needs. You have a lantern that must be refilled with oil or it will go out, if you get drenched in the water it puts the lantern out until you've dried, things like this make the game really dynamic.

    The graphics look great, would be much stronger if they were better than 720DPI. I think they did this so the game ran more smooth than Elder Scrolls Oblivion which was laggy even if the game was installed to the hard drive.

    The combat system is down-right dirty. It reminds of allot of Ninja Gaiden because of it's speed and having to use certain buttons for certain moves rather than button smashing.

    Lastly, I think the Pawn System is great it takes social networking, single-player/multi-player gaming in a new direction. Me and my sister swap out our pawns to earn points which can be used to use purchase other pawns, or even items in the game. Think of them as sell-swords that you hire to follow you.

    Hope this helps ya out. Check out youtube videos to help you make a choice.

    : I think it failed cause I was going off-course from where I was supposed to be taking her now. I thought I could cut north and west rather than going around more easterly and that's when the quest was like FAILED!

    I think you only fail if they die. I did one with a city guard from Gran Soren, and since he could fight, had a sword and shield and full on armor, and he actually attacked back. I went around for like an hour or more with him tagging along and helping kill stuff.

    @aaronBLUEeyes:

    I think that was my problem too. I somehow thought she would just follow me wherever I go, and suddenly I got the message it failed... oh well.

    This, so much this.

    I thought they could follow anywhere and if you get too far where they are supposed to go they do vanish and you do fail. I got off course with the woman (with the hydra head) and she was helping me fight and we were just walking and she kinda poofed. then I failed, I know she didn't die cause she was right next to me.

    So word to the wise, take them bastards where they need to go or you will fail!
