Dragons were originally messengers from heaven, according to early Buddhist texts. In games, they can be among the most fearsome of adversaries, but there are some exceptions.
Coming September 9: The Big Live Live Show: Live!
From what I understand it's not a NO ANIME policy just more that it's something that doesn't really interest them.
Whiskey Media has a anime site, GiantBomb is the video games site so even though I have a deep affinity for anime I would not want to see tons of anime related stories and threads here when they are already at Anime Vice.
I normally bite my tongue on stuff like this...but 10am PDT on a Thursday? Really? I mean, I'm glad that the show will be more easily seen live by our European userbase, but let's face it - most Bombers live in the United States and either work full time, go to school, or both. I work normal business hours and there is no way I'll see this live, not to mention that there's no way I'll ever get into a TNT.
I hope the footage gets archived and the whole thing will be viewable on justin.tv or something, or at the very least a highlight reel.
So this is on 3am Friday the 10th here.
Thinking of skipping the 4 lectures I have that day.
Hopfully there isn't a mid-semester exam that day...
I'll be all over this one, I've got a beer chiller next to my desk which will be good for sandwiches all day. Let's have it!
I got to know John and Gia rather well back when AV still existed, and they told me out side of the site that it just came down to no one at whiskey giving a fuck about anime. No one at the office cared about anime, so AV was always the last to get attention or effort put behind the site and promoting it from the staff and the higher ups." Now AV is what it is. A faceless, empty joke of a site that gets zero support or effort put into it by anyone at whiskey. I honestly have no idea why they still keep it up.

I really liked them as I got to know them pretty well, as much as a stranger can know some one on the interest anyway, and really enjoyed talking with them. It was really hard to adjust going from AV where the staff talked to the community, and even had in jokes in various videos, back to GB where I have never personally seen a member of the staff talk to people. Obviously GB has a bigger community so they can't really be expected too, but it was still weird going from feeling like you belonged to the site to just being another face in the horde.
I will always have my memories of being a main stay on one of there video features that they had started just before the site died. I always managed to get some creepy off the wall question in there for them to ask and it always made me laugh like a school girl seeing there reactions when they read it. I was glad that they got to one of my more off the wall ones in there last video that they did. I still laugh every time I watch it and seeing John go speechless. Starts at 2:00 if you want to watch it. =)
I demand my 2 dollars back for the GB app. It's obsolete.
Well, I don't actually care about the two bucks. Does seem a shame that the app got so little support post-launch, though.
