What kind of dragons do you like better?

#1 Posted by Shun_Akiyama (490 posts) -

The ones with four limbs and wings on their back, or the ones with two legs and wings instead of arms?
I like the four limb ones.

I've only ever seen dragons with four limbs

so that's my choice I guess

Four limbs and wings. I also like dragons as terrifying beasts, not as mythical, speaking sages.

Actually, if you want to get technical about it, those aren't dragons in Skyrim, they are Wyverns.

I am not thinking of something off the top of my head, but I know for sure they would be in dragonball games

Is it really worth arguing semantics over make-believe?

Yes.

"Dragons are large, scaled creatures, with long, slender extremities, and thin, bat-like wings. Dragons have three sharp talons and one vestigial digit known as a dewclaw on each of their legs, as evidenced by their written language: all of the character symbols consist of a maximum of three scratches and sometimes a dot from the dewclaw. Dragons have horns and spiked ridges along their backs and are several times larger than any human or elf. They have two hind legs but no forearms, so when they are forced to traverse along the ground they must crawl around on their wings to do so. Because of this, Skyrim's dragons are technically considered to be wyverns and not "true" dragons."

Wasn't really trying to argue anything, I was just pointing it out, and I'm not trying to argue with you right now either.

I like the robotic ones... Drobots.

I only killed one dragon before I quit playing. I never paid attention to what it looked like.

Yeah I didn't phrase that very well. I just find it kinda funny how seriously some people can take their monster manuals... like Meowshi here:

That still doesn't explain why I'd want to or need to make a distinction. Not exactly a lot of dragon... scholars out there. Dragonologists? Dragon watchers? I dunno.

Wyverns. I think they're cool.

#21 Posted by Red (5995 posts) -

Damn you all for making me want to play skyrim again...

#22 Posted by Turambar (6784 posts) -

I prefer the Asian style serpent-esque dragons the most.

#23 Posted by Saethir (353 posts) -

I am also a fan of the 7 appendage Dragon. (four legs, wings, and tail.) Not sure how I feel about the talking ones, but they should deffinately be a sort of "ultimate" enemy. hoarding gold is a plus, if not extremely important.

I regret clicking on this thread. I never would have thought about it before, but now that I am, I realize that the 4 legged dragons sort of bug me.

It's because of birds, right? There forearms are wings, so 4 legged dragons seem to have too many legs. IT makes sense. I like to explain it by making it a badass reptile version of the Pegasus.

#27 Posted by Zithe (1045 posts) -

@Saethir: Yeah, especially looking at the image that Marz posted on the first page. The wings look like they are just unnaturally growing out of its body.

#28 Posted by matthias2437 (985 posts) -

I prefer the classic 4-legged, dual winged dragons. I really dug the Dragon design in Dragon Age: Origins.

#29 Edited by Vorbis (2750 posts) -

The "Wyverns" have forearms combined with the wings, generally move like reptiles. Two legs, no forearms is a Wyrm, move more like worms or snakes. A Dragon needs to swipe with more than just its tail, got to have the extra legs. It also needs to breath fire and sleep on gold.

#30 Posted by Red (5995 posts) -

@matthias2437: Yeah, Dragon Age I believe has won my dragonic heart.

#31 Posted by Phatmac (5726 posts) -

I like dragons that are voiced by Sean Connery. Does that count?

#32 Posted by EmuLeader (558 posts) -

Gary Whitta knows what kinds of dragons are cool. And they seem to enjoy cars....

The kind you can fuck
#34 Posted by Centimani (550 posts) -

^ Yep, the sexy kind.

I actually think the skyrim style look better.

#35 Posted by kindgineer (2728 posts) -

There are a lot more dragons than those two. I would have to say either Earth Wyrms or Ice/Frost Wyrms are my favorite. I love Wyrm's pure sense of evil and primalality.

so touching the reverse scale should be the highest level unarmed perk in skyrim?
#37 Posted by HeavyDuty32 (305 posts) -

I prefer the Ryu kind, since his fireballs are blue. Also, hurricane kicks are cool.

@Shun_Akiyama: It should be Elder God Tier
