Lots of Potential, But Poor Delivery 0

Drakengard is the latest title from Square Enix, but it's not what you've come to expect from Square.  Drakengard is a full-on hack'n'slash action game with some RPG elements thrown in.  But to add a bit of a twist (or to just muffle the monotany of constant hacking), you also get to hop on a dragon much like Panzer Dragoon Orta and annhilate hundreds of enemies via fireballs and dragon magic.  Panzer Dragoon + Dynasty Warriors makes for a cool idea, but even after several years in developm...

Drakengard may not have blazed any trails, but... 0

Drakengard implements some fairly familiar game play components of two very different styles, but does it in a way that manages to make both styles more interesting. Now Drakengard does have some reminiscent qualities of the more traditional RPGs by Square Enix, but it is in essence an action game. The game consists of two major game play styles: hack and slash and aerial combat. You may not see how these two styles mesh together well now, but surprisingly they compliment each other quite nicely...
