What ever happened to this?

Whatever happened to these chapters, are they even being made or this series dead? I really liked Dreamfall because it was very story driven so when I heard that there were chapters being made after the story I was super excited. Wikipedia states that as of 2009 no work has been started even though it was announced in 2007 and that apparently it's put on indefinite hold but the series creator Tørnquist contradicts this and says it's temporary. Will this series be stuck in limbo or will I eventually be able to continue the story.

I certainly hope so.  We still haven't been told what the Undreaming is, and what's up with (apparently) fake Westhouse and Reza.  I'm curious!

I hope it's not gone, I loved Dreamfall and I would love a continuation of that cliffhanger ending that game had

2 years and 2 hours ago - shows how hope sometimes bears fruit.

I'm really excited for this. While I only played The Longest Journey retroactively (and was severely put off by the technical failures of age), I immediately felt Ragnar's narrative and dialogue influence all over The Secret World. He made that game special, regardless of how much the combat was lackluster.

I am so excited to see what he can do without slugging around a weighty MMO and given more creative freedom in a modern release. Colour me committed to this.

Dreamfall was bad. I hope they move away from what made it bad, like the terrible combat they forced into it.

This

AKA a fully funded kickstarter hunting bonus goals now.

What are you asking? They don't receive the funding until the funding period ends (30 days). After they get their funding, they will continue development (although, with Funcom's financial support, I imagine they're working on it regardless of the Kickstarter). Until those 30 days are up, they don't see a penny of the money.

The game is set to release in November 2014.

@funkydupe: They have stated in their kickstarter that there will not be any clunky stealth/or action scenes. Just good ole adventure and storytelling. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redthread/dreamfall-chapters-the-longest-journey

Only four more days in the Kickstarter! They've blown by their original goal and some stretch goals, but the last goal is The Longest Journey Home, a true 2-d classic point-and-click sequel to the original Longest Journey and April's story. Give it a look and help fund this please: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redthread/dreamfall-chapters-the-longest-journey/posts/417562
