A series of 70's car-chase inspired open-world games where you drive to complete increasing difficult missions.
Overview
Driver is a series of games inspired by 60's-70's car chases and films like Bullitt. You play as Tanner, an undercover cop who uses his impressive driving skills to bring down crime bosses, chase down criminals or even just save the Presidents life.Games
Driver
The first game in the franchise, Tanner must infiltrate a crime ring in Miami, starting off with a test drive around a parking lot to impress a gang. This 'interview' process was used not only to give the player an impression of how the car handles, but to make sure that the player is able to pull off a long list of moves necessary to play the game successfully. Many players were caught out by the unexpected difficulty of just the first 'mission', but players who completed the preliminary training were rewarded with missions unlocking the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles and ending up in New York city, escorting the President to safety, which was a mission well known for producing thrown PS1 controllers.Driver 2: The Wheelman Is Back
