After approximately fourteen years of development, the heavily infamous sequel to Duke Nukem 3D was finally released, in which the macho Duke must damper yet another alien invasion.
Although most of 3D Realm's development team was laid off due to "lack of funding to sustain the high level of development", they are apparently still working on it. Looks like it's going to take even longer to come out with less people working on it.
The fact is that even if the laid off staff volunteer to do it as a sort of spare time project, by the time it comes out the game will be so outdated that yet AGAIN it will be scrapped and started over again.
At this point it is just sorta like a drug addict in denial clinging to the hope that things will turn out okay one day. Well it won't, Duke Nukem Failed and even if it was to come out now with some half assed quality then that fails just as much if not more.
I just realised. December 21st 2012, has nothing to do with the Mayan calender. It is actually the secret release date of Duke Nukem. The end is nigh! *Insert Sarcasm*
