I hope they don't release the PC version of this game in as broken and horrible of a state that the PC version of Borderlands was in.
Duke Nukem Forever
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Jun 14, 2011
After approximately fourteen years of development, the heavily infamous sequel to Duke Nukem 3D was finally released, in which the macho Duke must damper yet another alien invasion.
Gearbox Software To Finish Duke Nukem Forever
Now we all know what happened to the original Borderlands art assets and storyline! Borderlands Forever!
Give a release exact 2011 release date Gearbox and I'll pre-order the heck out of this. There are some who will just not care, who never experienced Duke Nukem in it's glory days or are just saying no because it's no longer their most loved piece of vaporware.
But I say yes. Duke is Duke no matter how you twist or turn it. Regardless of it being hopeless nostalgia for something that got stuck in the 90's or just wanting to know where 13+ years went. Bad or good it's the game the Duke deserved to have but never really got- till now. Even if this game falls hard on it's face I can at least say that I was there and played something I been waiting for since 1997 and close the book. The Duke Nukem chapter will be closed for me.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
sure.
When I see it on shelves, I will buy a copy, throw it away, and refuse to read/watch anything regarding its public inception and life after print.
No game, however perfect, could ever follow-up my entire experience of this games production. It was a wonderfully kooky and storied (is it over? lulz) thing which should find a life into a movie made by the guy who made King of Kong, or someone similar.
I wouldn't watch that though.

Okay..this is good. Gearbox is an excellent choice, so this game will be decent. Gearbox..don't forget about Borderlands 2. If Ole Pitch fork..Pitchford says it's on, then I think the bs is over. I do not expect The Game of the Century, and despite what what DN thinks while he gets felt up there, I don't give a damn...where's those ladies faces?I'm sure now it's all in. ..professional hands. Duke and the game.
I was the first this morning to see this story be posted. I was going to have the first comment. But I just stopped laughing about 10 seconds ago.
I would actually be tempted to get the collectors edition if it had multiple versions of the game when it was running on different engines and a movie length documentary of the development this damn thing went through.
I'll buy a copy of this game, just to have as a historical and cultural relic when I'm older, haha.
In all honesty, I'm glad Gearbox were given the reins. It gives me some small hope that this game will actually be decent. 3D Realms have clearly lost the plot on what makes a good first person shooter, since their 90's glory days.
I hope they release a collectors edition, with a commentary or video of everything this title has gone through.
Let us hope the long international joke is nearly over.

I just don't know how this kind of game is still relevant? I mean I can't see the Duke character even being funny anymore. I feel like that era of action heroes is dead and gone. Maybe Gearbox will be able to update it enough that it'll be interesting, but if that's the case, what's the point of keeping Duke?
The Gearbox boss also related his wife's insistence that he take up Duke's cause and that if he succeeded in making it happen, she'd give him – and this a direct quote – a "Chilean Miner." She would "go down the shaft and stay 'til Christmas."

I'm betting with Gearbox behind it as well as the bringing the guys into to finish it I'm sure the game will actualy come out now. The reasoning is that Gearbox and Randy Pitchford don't mess.
This however gets me wondering; if theyre patching together the rest of this breached hull of a mess whats to become of Alien: Colonal Marine now?
"I stopped caring about this game years ago. I can't think of much this game will have going for it other than the name and idiots buying it sight-unseen on the first day. The industry moved on. DNF is just a bad, stale joke now. "
Comments like this are assanine.
I keep having to say it, but the gaming industry does NOT "evolve". It's completely trendy, as "every game you buy is a vote for 5 more of the same game next year". Does that sound like evolution, or capitalism?
Many of the concepts in Duke Nukem didn't lose their inherent enjoyability, Half-Life came along and hijacked the entire genre of First Person shooting by selling a bazillion copies. More games came out just like it (most of them much more poor in quality.)
Duke is "relevant" because it's a new videogame. It has as much as an equal shot (or more) of being a hit as any other game. When it does well people will say it "brought back the blah blah blah... or made blah blah blah "relevant" again, but in reality it was just a game that was good and independant of whatever the current market leader is.

Ha, ha, ha, so that's why Randy looked so happy in the conference room on the 2K livestream.
It's a good business decision, if nothing else. Just the name Duke Nukem Forever on store shelves will sell units, even if it is a half baked mess. and with Gearbox at the helm I doubt it'll even be half baked now. Could be charming if the gameplay is fun and they take things way over the top.
But if it's a lame beefcake jokefest with a lot of "hey, remember this?" moments, count me out. Pressing X to hit a pool ball or pull a slot machine lever and "shake it, baby" may make it a worthy continuation of the series, but that doesn't make it worth my time and money. Have to wait and see, expectations still pretty low.
" I'm hoping their next project is Daiktana 2. "Randy Pitchford and John Romero are going to make you their bitch
