Good grief.
Handled it the best they could, although I do wonder if anybody actually thought it would make it's May release. I do wonder what they're using the extra time for, whether it's just polish or if they found a game breaking bug.

" @MattBosten said:Yeah part of me thinks this is just a marketing thing and the game was never intended (internally at least) to come out in May." I don't think this was planned, but I am certain that the May release date was a TBA 2011 in disguise, which they did because they KNEW they could get a free pass for at least one delay if they put out a jokey press release. Even though it's not even a little bit funny anymore.
Their whole line on this game was "It's coming out for sure" so having a hard date early on was important, even if it was bullshit.
" This was definitely planned all along. "Yup. Still brilliant no matter how obvious :)
It's definitely a pretty risky move making a delay on a game with Duke Nukem Forevers reputation, but if this was planned all along, they may have a decent marketing campaign to capitalize on this to get a fairly big amount of press.
But on the other hand, like I said, pretty risky, since it can backfire easily if enough people start to believe that it's never coming out.
I secretly hoped Gearbox would do this, and maybe they probably had this planned all along.
I mean, it's Duke Nukem Forever... it HAD to be delayed a little more ^^
Meh waited this long, month wont make a difference. But yeah Gearbox better not go bust till at least August just to be safe.
Wait, how can it come out before its own release date? How can you release it internationally, and then release it four days later?
Hey yo, next week is LIAR'S DAY.
Maybe they'll put it out early.
I wonder what they need that extra month for, maybe this came from the top. Maybe they need that time to add the people that worked on the game. Or maybe they just want to eff with people.
