Also, in many ways, visually a rip-off of Fallout 3, yet nowhere near as amazing.The movie being so religious was also a total slap in the face. I wanted to like it. I thought it looked great in previews, but man, I think overall the movie really blows.

I worked on the game about eight years ago for a brief period doing writing and story consulting work. I seriously doubt anything I did is in the finished game. I also put the game on the cover of PC GAMER three times while I was Editor there, so the Special Thanks may be for that :)

I'm surprised that you're using The Book of Eli as his main association when he appears regularly on GB's Thursday Night Throwdown, E3 live-streams just last week and the Tested podcast every week.

I wouldn't blame Whitta.  It takes the convergence of a lot of talented people to make even a bad film, and that film's problems probably didn't start at the script level.  If you can even get a script into pre-production, it's probably pretty solid.
