In a recent podcast at OneMetal we talked about the total lack of unique features of this title. The only interesting thing about this game, is that its Duke Nukem. The original Duke Nukem 3D offered up some cool innovative features (who doesn't love laser trip mines) and a larger than life character, Dose anyone think that there is going to be anything even remotely compelling about this squeal? if so what would it be?

of course not. if anything I think they'll "inovate" the series by introducing a cover-based mechanic. i am absolutely sure DNF will be mediocre and forgettable 

Being Duke Nukem is probably enough at this point.
As long as the dudes spouting one liners, the shooting feels solid enough and I can pee at urinals my expectations will have been met. I will have been pleased.
My expectations aren't unrealistic.
 
It basically just needs to have Duke Nukems brand of humor and be a solid shooter.  
I'd think that's all anyone who genuinely still wants to play the game at this point would want. 
That'll be enough for DNF to get by on anyway. 
Wouldn't expect a great critical reception, but it'll sell enough just due to the fact that it'll finally be out and people will want to see the end result of all the years of waiting.
 
Frankly I'm more curious as to where they go after DNF, but will save speculation until DNF is actually out.

Duke Nukem 3D is an awesome, crass, violent and incredibly fun first person shooter. I expect nothing less from Duke Nukem Forever.

What the hell was that video all about, oddly that does not make me at all interested in playing this game.

If The new Duke was amazing it would have come out years ago.

I like Duke Nukem for pretty much the same reason I like Metal Gear Solid- I just like the main characters voice, and the things he has to say.

It's at least worth watching someone else play it. 
 
  

I doubt there will be any real innovations in the game and I also think it will have an old-school FPS feel to it, at least i Hope. Im fine with that, think it may even be a refreshing change from the FPS out at the moment. Shrink guns, tripwires, portals you can fire ammo and objects through.....I still believe in Duke.

While I really enjoyed DN3D, this wasn't my favorite of the other games that popped up in the same time period (Blood & Shadow Warrior). Tis a shame that there's not a lot going in the new game though seeing how long it was in development hell, there's no telling (until they put out a documentary on it) what all was going to be in the new game.
