In short yes, it will come out in some form. I really think this game will be bought buy some small company and be released. This would put them on the map. In fact the whole franchise will probably be bought but we may not see the Forever game we were all expecting. It seems that the game was very near to being completed so I don't think it is a far cry from coming out. I would love to see a revival of the franchise.

i do not think that the game was near completion at all. if it was so close then why would 3d realms shut its doors? 10 years in the making i done think the game is anywhere complete.  yet i still do hope the game comes out.  DN 3d was one of the best games out there.  a game that doesnt take itself to seriously and is over the top with good game play.  still all we can do is hope and hope it isnt another 10 years

I'm thinking there's not much chance of it. The best we can hope for is that some coder from 3D Realms leaks a playable build online.
