DNT is off to a rocky start with the fanbase, starting with their infamous announcement trailer at E3 2008, which not only contained no gameplay footage, it contained no footage at all, consisting entirely of the revelation of the 'Duke Nukem Trilogy' title, the titles of the three sub-games, an animated nuclear explosion, non-animated concept art of Duke, various photographs of people in gas masks, and a black-and-white photo of the effects of a nuclear weapons test on several buildings. All of this is set to the Duke Nukem theme song, "Grab bag", and assorted voice clips and sound files lifted directly from Duke Nukem 3D.
A compilation of games staring the one and only Duke Nukem. notorious for its E3 2008 Trailer, included in the compilation are Duke Nukem: Critical Mass, Duke Nukem: Chain Reaction and Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds.
The Duke Nukem Trilogy will consist of three sub-games; Duke Nukem: Critical Mass, Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds, and Duke Nukem: Chain Reaction. Right now, no details are known about the individual games, although it is known that the PSP version will be rated M, while the Nintendo DS version will be rated T.
