Please rate this game and explain!
I was at gamestop earlier, and one of their employees said this game was very fun and he enjoys it. I was looking at it and it looks interesting.
Can you, the GBCommunity please rate this game on a scale of 1 to 10 and explain why you gave it that score? Please and thank you!!
2 out of 5.
It's not broken, but it is very basic and dull. The game doesn't make good use of any of it's features such as the co-op (some would say that is busted, but definitely antiquated). The dialogue/choice system has almost no impact and incredibly poorly executed and presented (sometimes my character was facing completely the wrong direction, not moving his mouth and no characters make eye contact). It looks almost like an original xbox game. Even on PC it barely looks OK. Very poor design decisions in spots (I'm thinking of a loot vs shopping issue near the end of the game). It is very linear but doesn't seem to always want you to play linear, making you backtrack through the size of a corridor through the woods and countryside.
+ The combat is pretty fun if you olay it with a controller
+ the graphics and dialogue are pretty good
- Very short with no NG+ or endgame
- Very linear, every playthrough
- Horrible online integration
- Pre-built characters
- Little variation in abilitys (and you only get 6 per character + 3 buffs)
The overall game i would rate a 7 but deduct an additional point for its short length so 6
I only played the demo, but the game felt really average to me.
Combat wasn't too bad, but it seemed to lack proper hit feedback (it felt like I the character was waving her staff through thin air all the time). Seemed to be really linear, too, which isn't a great thing for a game like this. There are definitely better games out there to invest $50-$60 in.
Shame, Obsidian have it in them to make a great RPG, but they always somehow manage to mess things up. I don't know.
There are user reviews on Giant Bomb for each game, read those first. Myself and owl_of_minerva posted 2 reviews already.
3.5/5 on my end
games biggest issue is lack of content imo :

your trolling is getting old1/10 its fucking terrible
I couldn't even tolerate the demo. I hate how we're in 2011 and games are still forcing preset characters onto preset classes. The first two Dungeon Siege games didn't do this, so why start now? It also felt far more slow paced, the inventory system was terrible, and the game was overall far less open than the first two. As a fan of the first two games, this gets a D in my book. The only saving grace seemed to be the storytelling.
Demo star-rating: 2 out of 5.
At no point was I having "fun." Transforming into a phoenix lady was mildly amusing. Lost all interest in the final release of the game.

I still think the game is ok as it's certainly better than some of the other top down hack and slash games out there and there is some replay value to be had but it's mostly for achievements. Other than that the multiplayer has some flaws in the way it handles things and I really don't like the idea of the premade characters. I liked making my own character and deciding thier class myself not just forced into playing a male or female depending on what class I want to play. Like what if I want a female warrior? Nope! It just erks me really.
I'd probably still play it but only after a price drop.
