Genesis

Set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons, Warriors of the Eternal Sun is an adventure RPG using a party system. Set in an unknown world populated with enemies, the heroes have to begin an epic quest for the sake of kingdom and culture.

Concepts

2D

Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.
Alignment

Gameplay system where choices in actions and dialogue affect the alignment of the protagonist on a spectrum toward opposite poles. Changes in alignment often modify the course of the narrative, player abilities, and gameplay options.
Attributes

Attributes are a numerical representation of a character's abilities who have their roots in RPGs. Today, attributes have spilled over to a wide range of game genres.
Classes

Classes are different archetypes and playstyles that players can choose to play their game with.
Death

The main line of distinction between victory or failure in video games, death is the process of a biological being ceasing to be alive.
Dinosaurs

These prehistoric behemoths cause chaos amongst many. Fortunately, they are extinct.
Dragons

It wouldn't be called Dungeons and Dragons without them!
Dwarves

Dwarves are a short, stout race that appear in any number of fantasy games and stories. They are almost always depicted as short with bushy beards similar to vikings. They can also be identified by their love for ale and gold.
Elf

Elves are a race found in a lot of games based on a fantasy setting. They are recognizable by their elongated ears and often live much longer than humans. Some are even immortal. There are many variations of Elves.
Experience Points

Experience Points are part of a character advancement system commonly found in RPGs. These points are generally gained by defeating an enemy or completing a task.
Fighter

A popular class in many D&D based games, the Fighter can both dish it and take it!
Fire

In games, fire can be an obstacle, a tool, a weapon, or a solution. Just don't play with it...unless you really want to.
Goblins

Goblins are irritable, evil and mischievous creatures in folklore. They can range in size from halfling to average human size.
Grinding

During the early stages of the game it is necessary to grind through levels against easy opponents as the difficulty can increase rapidly in other areas.
Halflings

Halflings, also known as hobbits, average about three and a half feet tall. They have an innate affinity to nature and possess both the agility and dexterity to make great rogues. Halflings are generally good people, but also have a mischievous side that my infuriate others.
Hit Points

These increase per level. Fighters commonly have more hit points than clerics or magic-users.
Human

Humans are bipedal, sapient primates capable of abstract reasoning, language, and emotions.
Inventory

Collecting items and magic scrolls is the best money earner in the game. Items found are also usually much more effective than the ones its possible to buy at the shops. The inventory of each player can be changed depending upon the given situation.
Isometric Viewpoint

The isometric viewpoint in this game gives everything a look as though its leaning to the left.
Loot Gathering

Collecting objects in a game such as weapons, armor, items, and currency. Loot is often associated with MMOs and games with RPG elements.
Magic

A variety of magic abilities become available to your characters as they increase in level. It is also possible to buy or find magic scrolls. Some enemies in the game also have magic attacks.
Melee

From Beat-em-ups to fighting games to modern FPS, one dude hitting another has made an enjoyable pastime.
Natural 20

A game concept derived from implementing pen & paper mechanics into video games such as Neverwinter Nights. A "natural 20" occurs when a player rolls a 20 on a 20-sided dice. A player can experience rolling a natural 20 in video games when dice rolls are implemented into combat or world mechanics.
Non-Player Character

Characters controlled by the game for players to interact with, as opposed to player characters which are controlled by whomever is playing the game.
Oversized Vermin

Oversized pests such as rats or bugs are often used as low level enemies in role playing games. They can be found in most any Western RPG, especially ones that use the Dungeons and Dragons rule set.
Party System

You begin this game by creating a unique party of four members. You can choose from any variety of classes such as: Fighter, Cleric, Magic User, Thief, Dwarf, Elf and Halfling. Each character class comes with both male and female options and the ability to customise colour and name.
Player Created Party

Games where the player either can, or must, create all their protagonists as custom characters.
Random Encounter

A glitch found in many RPGs which repeatedly forces the player into combat situations when they are walking around an area such as a dungeon, cave, or overworld map. Some gamers defend random encounters for aiding the player in leveling up, but most consider it an annoyance.
Reading

Whoever said gamers don't read needs to play these games.
Reptilian Humanoid

Reptilian humanoids are a common motif in mythology, folklore and fantasy. As a race, they are sometimes cited to be extremely old, even older than men and elves. Examples: Lizalfos (Zelda), Lizardmen (Warhammer) & Argonians (The Elder Scrolls) They generally walk upright like any other humanoid and sport some kind of tail.
