Has anyone else run across odd gameplay stuttering while playing Dust? Every so often, the framerate just stutters real bad and then it clears up. I love the game, but the framerate dip is getting annoying. Maybe I need to free up some HD space?

Sounds really strange, is it just at random points in the game or is it specific areas were the framerate dips?

It's totally random from what I've seen. I just wiped 50GB off my HD so hopefully that'll help. I know the dashboard was a nightmare with 200GB on the thing so maybe it's bleeding into my HD stored games now.

Yeah, i've been experiencing the odd stutter now and again. Generally seems to be when tutorial messages pop up, accessing the inventory, saving the game or achievements popping at times. likewise the latest model which works fine otherwise. It isn't too frequent and the dips in frame rate aren't too lengthy. Browsing around online I have found a number of other people experiencing the same thing in the same places so I wouldn't worry about it.

Happening really badly for me. Seems to last for about a minute, normally when any notifications or in-game messages pop up or it saves. It's really awful and is basically making the game unplayable.

I'm also on the slim 360.

Yeah removing junk from the HD didn't do a whole lot. :( Ah well, I can still play it.

Interesting, never experienced anything like that (neither did testers), but I'll definitely look into it.

@isawachuck: As someone else pointed out; have you tried clearing the console's cache?

Removing "junk" isnt the same as clearing your cache; just to be clear about it, (and if you already know this sorry to tell you how to suck eggs),

Proceedure for cache clearance can be found here, http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/clear-system-cache it will nuke your title updates for all your games but nothing else. Well worth doing anytime your xbox starts to be a bit iffy (assuming its not hardware related).

5 hours or so in now, and i have not had any issues, i also have a 360slim.

I had a similar problem. After clearing my system cache the situation is vastly improved. I only get a small stutter before an achievement pops. Loving this game.
