Yeah I remember Jeff saying on a Bombcast probably a couple weeks ago that he had a basically release version of the game already on PC.
But who knows. Not sure how the embargo is set up.
EDIT: okay well checked Arthur Gies twitter as he usually is very open about this subject and he says they haven't given out review codes or copies of the game to anyone.
i don't know where the "review copies of dying light went out today" thing came from, but untrue as far as i've heard. still nada.

I wonder if this will be good or not. I had zero interest in playing FarCry 4 but Dying Light looks a lot like it with better movement. Well, by better I mean 'seemingly better' as who knows for sure right. I like the idea of being able to parkour up and down places in first person. I don't really relish the idea of fighting zombies again.
@humanity: Brink had some cool auto-parkour stuff in it. I doubt this will be as good as Brink though :o
@beachthunder: I don't know if I've ever heard anyone use the term "..as good as Brink" before.
Here is a pretty good look of it from the Best friends play guys. Should give you an overall idea of the game. Really just looks like another dead island.
This really seems like a 'wait for post-release reviews' game at this point. While I wouldn't call it a bad game, given what I've seen of it, I strongly recommend just waiting it out for some written impressions of it.

Well gotta say, I really didn't enjoy the commentary on that video but I did get a sense of how the game plays, more or less. Excuse the poor coincidence in wording, but it seems kinda lifeless.
@humanity: Interesting. Giantbomb and TBF are the only people I keep up to date with. I like both outlets for their personalities. As for the game, here in the UK, the physical copies were put on hold. Not sure if I should go digital in the PSN store for £54 (I know, it's pricey) or take a gamble, and hope to god it works on my PC. My processor blew and had to quickly replace it with a AMD Athlon II X2 250.
@thethingaboutmachines: I mainly didn't enjoy them constantly pointing out gaming tropes as if it was anything new or humorous to do so. Yes explosive barrels are always red, and wow they explode even if you hit them with a dull pipe and when you climb tall structures there are usually birds to show height. Like yes, I've played a video game before, and I've made these observations as well. It just felt whiny instead of funny, but maybe balancing between one and the other is their schtick - this is maybe the second video I've ever seen of theirs. It's like making those Back to the Future jokes because it's 2015, but in gaming form.
@ikilledthedj: thanks they're cool dudes I like them and never heard of them before they just got a new subscriber.
@humanity: That's fair enough. I suppose, I just enjoy listening to them and their lives. I've listened to their podcast for ages now, and followed them back when they were doing just Machinima short videos. I find the idea of following people and getting to know them, even though they don't know you personally, pretty odd. However, that's the draw for me with Giantbomb and the TBF.
I think RadBrad is pretty good for his videos because he doesn't talk during cut-scenes, yet fun to watch.
@thethingaboutmachines: Man that guy is a little too enthusiastic about stuff. Not sure if he's faking it or not but his "Oh gosh you guys oh god that was intense.. that was crazy!" is unbearable after a while.
@humanity: I think that's why I like him. In a world where mostly everyone is negative (me included), we need one dude who's being happy for the rest of us. I honestly think that guy is just that happy. Would hate to find out he's basically a pornstar and faked it all.
@ikilledthedj: That was a cool video thanks
There are a ton of twitch streams going that give you a pretty good idea of the game. It is a bit reductive but it looks like dead island meets asassins creed or mirrors edge. Since I haven't played anything like dead island since, well the first dead island it kinda got me pretty pumped. It looks put together WAY better than dead island, I didn't see any huge bugs or glitches and the game seems to run really solid on both consoles (pc seems good too from what I've found). Overall the technical woes of techlands original zombie game seem to have been squished into something that looks pretty good and polished.
So yeah it looks like dead island but there has really only been one core dead island game if you don't count the semi expansion that was Riptide so I think I may pick this up
What's the consensus? Better dead island with cool parcour and actually threatening zombies at night or riptide all over again?
Also watching a stream last night there was a section kinda reminiscent of something like Condemned. The music was really really great and the combat against humans looked pretty visceral.
Watching Arthur Gies play this made me wait. This looks bad. The analog combat is gone, so you just right trigger zombies until they die. They also take like twenty hits to boot, so it seems SUPER BORING. Of course, this could change later in the game with better weapons, so I'm waiting for a more full impression later in the week. Also - the climbing seems terrible. Arthur was unable to climb barred windows, a tower made out of cross piping, and a fucking chain link fence. That's inexcusable in a "parkour" game.
