Dynasty Warriors: Gundam

Dynasty Warriors meets Gundam in a spin-off of the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam brings two popular franchises into one game with characters and mobile suits from series ranging from the original Mobile Suit Gundam to G Gundam.

Concepts

60 FPS on Consoles

Theoretically, all PC games can run at a solid 60 frames per second and beyond. On consoles, this frame rate is a much rarer commodity, with many games targeting only 30, sometimes even struggling to keep up.
Achievements

Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.
Antagonist

The character or group most responsible for thwarting the player's progress through a game. Differs from a boss insofar as the player may not directly interact with the antagonist.

Text profiles that summarize a character's history and their role in a story. Often paired with concept or CG art.
Character Select Screen

A concept in games with multiple characters, a screen with pictures of all playable characters with the possibility of stat listings.
Countdown Timer

The ultimate pressure feature. You have to complete the task at hand, be it finishing your opponent or cutting the right wire, in the allotted time depending on which game you're playing. So be quick or you lose.
Crowd Control

Crowd control is the art of whittling down large groups of attacking enemies via the constant reassessment of the greatest threat to the player; achieved by constant player movement, and adjusting the aim to the closest threat, then quickly moving on to the next greatest threat, and so forth.
Crowds

Get stuck in a mass of people and feel like a sheep getting nowhere.
Cutscene

A non-interactive sequence within a game most often used for plot advancement.
Dual Wielding

The concept of using two weapons at once, often for more damage at the cost of accuracy, the use of a shield, grenades, or other similar accessories.

Fodder Enemies

Fairly weak enemies (not specific characters) that go down in a couple shots or swings, but will keep coming in droves.

A grapple is a maneuver in which one character grabs an enemy and usually throws or damages the enemy. Most grapples occur in fighting games

Health is a value that gauges how much damage players can take in a game before they die or pass out. Also known as life in some games. Health is usually represented by a bar or a percentage instead of an exact amount. Found in most non sport games
In-Game Moves List

Complete move list for character actions that are already in the game itself. Usually accessed via pause menu.
Licensed Game

These games are based off of an established license, such as a movie or comic. Examples are the James Bond and Spider-Man franchises.
Mini-Boss

An opponent that typically appears around the halfway point in a level. Mini-Bosses are more formidable than the average opponent, though normally not as tough as the end-level Boss.
Multiple Protagonists

Sometimes one playable character just isn't enough.
Musou Attack

A type of character-specific special attack seen in all variants of Koei's Musou franchise.
Newtype

A Newtype is theorized to be the next step in human evolution in the Gundam universe. This metamorphosis appears most clearly as a heightened mental state.
Polygonal 3D

Who needs 2D when we've got 3D? 3D, or 3 dimensions, is what we're used to seeing in almost every game these days, letting us do all sorts of awesome stuff like run in circles!
Rivaling Factions

Two or more factions, either with the same or completely different goals, that constantly try to one-up each other. The player is sometimes forced to pick a side to root or work for during the struggle. Other times the rivalry is only mentioned in the plot.
Robots

If a person is made of metal and has circuitry instead of a circulatory system, then their game belongs on this list.
Soft Reset

Soft resetting is used in many console games to reset a game using the controller.
Spin-Off

A game that takes gameplay mechanics, characters, or story elements from an existing series in a separate and different direction, sometimes changing genres along the way.
Split-Screen Multiplayer

Sometimes, you want to want to play games with a real person who's sitting right next to you. These games have you covered.
Tie-In

Videogames that, for better or for worse, are based on an existing non-videogame franchise. Usually drawn from movies, tie-in games have also been made about TV shows, novels, and even one-hit wonder pop bands.
