E3 is showing me that this industry is getting too complicated...

#1 Posted by ZGoon (268 posts) -

I just want to play a fucking game... Why are Sony and Microsoft trying to invade every part of society with gaming?

The novelty of motion control on the wii kinda bored me after a while and I don't see this being any different.  I love my controller... who decided that controllers needed to change.

It makes me mad that these companies need to add motion control crap... why can't they just keep doing things the way they always have and be creative with what already exists.

Ok this rant is over... I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same about all this.

PS: All this exclusivity shit really pisses me off too.

@ZGoon:  It's the nature of human beings.
I come on here to discuss games. Why are there so many fucking podcasts by everyone who can speak and video-game politics and shit about the developers and articles about too much stuff?

Same thing with the industry.. now that its been established, there MUST BE a 'whole new level' full of annoying SOCIAL BULLSHIT

Really. I think it is the same it has always been. This E3 is no different than any other I've seen over the years. Motion controllers make things simpler not more complicated.

I just want to shoot people in the head and cut people's limbs off with my regular old controller at the same time as people on other consoles.

Exclusivity blows and motion control doesn't interest me (for now).

Nintendo did when they launched the Wii and made a gazillion dollars. What smart company wouldn't want a piece of that?

Pro-tip #1 You can still play games with your controller.

Pro-tip #2 Don't fear change.

Exclusivity is awesome! It breeds competition and gives us things like those EA limited editions that we would never have gotten otherwise.

I fear changes for the worse, what Nintendo did with the wii was horribly disappointing and Microsoft is trying their hardest to follow suit.

Yes, and stuff cut out from finished games like Mafia 2 just so a company can sell it as "exclusive DLC". That's just pathetic.

@atomic_dumpling: That is true.

Yeah, exclusive games are a good thing that fosters competition in the industry. Exclusive content in multiplats (excluding ports that come later) is the definition of evil marketing strategy.

Time for a new glory age for PC gaming, I guess. That has hundreds of buttons.

People are naturally resistant to change. There will still be controllers. Do not worry.
