IGN says they "obtained" official Dark Souls 3 promo art. As you can tell it says Early 2016 up front.

You guys...that seems early. I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed. I mean come on. But who knows what state the game is actually in. At this point it looks like it'll show up at E3, so we won't have to wait long for impressions.

Some of the best stories in games these days, yes please I'll take another one.

Really hope it's the Dark Souls 2 team. I enjoyed their take on that formula. Not as much of a "masterpiece" but much more playable and fun.

I'm not worried. I do hope it's more in the vein of Dark Souls 1 though.

If Miyazaki really is the director then I'd find it hard to believe, what with him also having directed Bloodborne. But if this was instead handled by the Dark Souls II team then I'd say it's pretty plausible.

This reminds me of when Konami used to put out two soccer games a year. ISS and Pro Evo attempted to cater for different crowds but ultimately, both crowds drawn themselves to Pro Evo. So there's a possible brand split. One being traditionally passive whilst the other is trying to make the player more aggressive.

I think this will be good. Maybe this will lead to them outstaying their welcome, but we're not gonna get these games by these exact developers forever, so bring it on.

I skipped bloodborne so I'm actually pretty excited for another Dark Souls. If it's the Dark Souls 2 team I hope they spend some more time on level design, but I'll be fairly happy even if its just a slightly improved Dark Souls 2 with new gear/classes/monsters/lore.

@mentaldisruption: I was really bummed by DS2's level design but I read somewhere that apparently the game was gutted pretty far in and they had to take what work they'd done and patch it together into something new. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt once but if this game's world is bad again it will turn me on them a good bit.

Way too soon. Since DSII I've feared them milking the franchise to death and this seems to confirm my fears.

Luckily I didn't play Bloodborne. This seems okay timing wise to me.
