Echochrome is a game available for download from the PSN Store. Gameplay involves you controlling a mannequin type character through a world where physics and reality depend on perspective.

Overview

Echochrome is a 3D puzzle game developed by JAPAN Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game was released through the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 and PSP and also on UMD for the PSP version in all regions except the United States. Echochrome was announced at E3 2007 and released in Japan on March 19, 2008 on UMD and PlayStation Store for the PSP. The game was later released in the United States on May 1, 2008 as a download only for the PSP and PlayStation 3.

Gameplay

Echochrome is a puzzle game where you solve puzzles not by controlling a character and having him change his surroundings but instead, the player changing the surroundings themselves. The player must use optical illusions to allow the character to progress. For example, if there is a gap in front of the character, the player must change the camera angle so that it appears that the gap is no longer there.

Home Version

On July 31 2008, lead developers Tatsuya Suzuki and Jun Fujiki announced that a 2D version of Echochrome would be coming to PlayStation Home. No release date or details have been specified.
