Boon's real breakthrough was his success with the Mortal Kombat series, and he is still working on a new game in the series which now has over 13 games. Not only is he leading the design team but he has contributed with m otion capture for the game as well as his voice for the character Scorpion (who is also his favorite MK character of all time). Boon voiced Scorpion's "Get over here !" line, a phrase now legendary in Mortal Kombat circles.
Ed likes his games even more than the fans and he is constantly involved in everything else related to them. In 1995 he was involved in the script for the Mortal Kombat movie which was directed by Paul W.S Anderson starring actors such as Christopher Lambert as Raiden and Bridgette Wilson as Sonya Blade. He also recorded Scorpion's harpoon line "Get over here!" just so that it would sound authentic in the movie. He is credited as Scorpion in many more projects and it would seem he would never let anyone try to take the voice from him.

Ed Boon is the co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series.
Overview
Ed Boon was born Edward J. Boon on February 22, 1964 in Chicago and is the co-creator and creative mastermind (together with John Tobias) of the legendary fighting franchise Mortal Kombat. He has a younger brother, Mike Boon, as well as two sisters, Tania and Sonya (both of whom had Mortal Kombat characters named after them, with the small change that Tania's "i" got replaced by a "y".) Boon went to the University of Illinois, where he studied computer science. Before starting the Mortal Kombat franchise, he worked on pinball machines and classic arcade games such as Smash TV.Boon's real breakthrough was his success with the Mortal Kombat series, and he is still working on a new game in the series which now has over 13 games.
