EA is evil!?!

I don't understand why people think EA is evil. What do they do that people say they're a bad company? Plus, I just read an article about Kotick bashing EA. So someone, tell me about EA's evilness.

Those were the good days... I think.

Iniquity passes through many companies; was EA, now Activision... and still Activision. One could complain with the monopoly EA has on the Madden series...

EA was the big baddie before Activision, it's a cycle, don't worry about it, people will get pissy.

@HandsomeDead: Yeah I know that.
@therepublicanguy: So people don't like them for throwing out Madden each year?

Those days were a lot better than now. At that time it was just EA not paying on over-time and releasing massive movie games that suck ass. Now it's Activision releasing a Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, Spider-Man, and movie games every year. Also Kotick acting as his own PR rep, firing a good team, and suing Tim Schafer for a game they canned. It's not really doing them justice.

There are a lot of people that don't like EA not only because of the yearly cycle of full $60 releases which are more or less perceived as glorified roster updates, though the gameplay and features are altered from year to year.  However, a lot of people are also frustrated because EA has the exclusive rights to makes games using the NFL license, meaning that they essentially have a monopoly on professional football video games and therefore don't have the motivating factor of competing games to improve their own game on a year-to-year basis.

I read up on that story also. If anyone wants to check it out, here it is:

It's actually about an article that is about to be released in EDGE magazine, but Shack News tells the gist of it.

I'm not saying its better or worse,my wish is to not throw  Activision under the bus for all the egregious business propositions. The only offense I have towards EA is the monopoly on the Madden franchise; I cannot believe that has not been overturned by a court of law. With Dead Space, ME2, and Dragon Age under their helm, I cannot complain at all.

Hahaha, I totally think Madden is where it started with EA!

EA is still as evil as they were before, but Activision surpassed them a few years ago. At least EA is willing to try something different from time to time.

@Hailinel: Ohhhhhhh. Alrighty then. That is stupid seeming all Maddens are the same.

So many people here fail to realize how much more evil/ruthless other companies outside of the video game industry are. Nothing EA does is relatively bad in the grand scheme of things.
