Overview
Born and raised in Winhill lived next door to Raine's pub when the Sorceress War began. The names of her parents are unknown but Estharian troops killed them since they refused to give up their daughter who Sorceress Adel was interested in for an heir since the cycle of sorceress must continue on. After the troops left Raine took in Ellone. Over time, Ellone considered Raine to be her actual mother. Four years later, Raine nurses Laguna Loire who jumped into a river prior to this with his friends who were tying to escape the Estharian troops. Ellone views Laguna as an uncle but wishes that him and Raine would be together.
Years later the two did get married but Ellone got kidnapped by Adel. Laguna left Winhill to search for her leaving Raine all alone. He never knew that his wife was actually pregnant with Squall Leonhart who Ellone acts as a big sister to at the orphanage in which Squall and the gang grew up at. The owner of the orphanage happens to be Sorceress Edea who's name is really Matron.
