Elrond is the elven Lord of Rivendell and is the son of Elwing and Earendil. Elrond and Elros Tar-Minyatur were twin brothers but Elrond took the choice to live as an immortal elf while his brother Elros took the choice to become mortal and was the first king of Numenor. Arwen is the daughter of Elrond.

Elrond is usually based on the likeness of Hugo Weaving due most the games being based the visual style of the films. Weaving has also provided voiceovers is some of Elrond's appearances, usually as a narrator.
