    Overview

Enrico Marini was a veteran soldier, skilled in various survival techniques. He played a minor role in both Resident Evil and its prequel, Resident Evil 0. He is one of the oldest members of the team, and shows disdain towards Chris Redfield and Barry Burton, whom he believes threatens his current position as Team Captain for S.T.A.R.S. Bravo squad.

    Wounded Marini
    Wounded Marini

Enrico Marini's role in both the original Resident Evil and the remake are exactly the same. In both he is encountered during the latter part of the game in the underground tunnels. He is wounded and tries to warn the player that there is a traitor in S.T.A.R.S. If playing as Chris, he will hold him at gunpoint suspecting that he may be the traitor. Chris reflexes in fear, only before Marini is shot and killed by an unseen assailant, who is later revealed to be Albert Wesker.

As Jill, the situation plays out similarly, only Marini won't hold as much suspicion towards her like he did Chris. Examining his corpse as either character will give players the hexagonal crank.

Enrico is the final member of Bravo squad the player will encounter in the game.

Enrico's role is expanded in the prequel game. He and his Bravo team are sent to the Arklay mountains to investigate a series of homicides in the region one day prior to the events of the first game. His surveillance of the area leads to the wreckage of a military police van, along with the mangled corpses of two officers and a document mentioning a murderous prisoner, Billy Coen. Marini deduces that Coen is responsible for the deaths of the officers and leads a manhunt for the escaped convict. Unbeknownst to Marini, Bravo Team member Rebecca Chambers meets up with Coen and becomes sympathetic to his story of being framed for the crimes he is accused of, working together with the escapee to survive the onslaught of terrible creatures.

Throughout the game, Enrico contacts Rebecca via the radio, and finally catches up with her in the underground Umbrella laboratory outside of Raccoon City. He tells Rebecca that the rest of Bravo Team is at a mansion and that Rebecca should follow him. However, she tells him she is looking for Billy, whom she was separated from. Due to the way Bravo Team was divided by the viral monsters, he orders his team to rendezvous at the mansion, leading to the events of Resident Evil. As Marini heads off on his own, Rebecca internally monologues ''I never saw him again...''.
