In Enter the Matrix, you can play as either Niobe (voiced by and based on Jada Pinkett Smith) or Ghost (voiced by and based on Anthony Wong), not only did the story of these two different characters intertwine, but also the videogame filled in certain aspects of the second Matrix film, The Matrix Reloaded. Enter The Matrix bridges gaps between Final Flight of the Osiris (The Animatrix), The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolutions. In Final Flight of the Osiris, the crew of the Osiris races to drop important information regarding an impending machine invasion to a drop spot in the Matrix. Enter The Matrix begins with Niobe's (or Ghost's, depending on character selection) mission to retrieve that information from the drop spot in the Matrix and bring it back to the leaders of Zion. Enter the Matrix mostly takes place in parallel to the events of The Matrix: Reloaded following Niobe, Ghost, Sparks (operator of the Logos) on their missions to aid and augment the missions of Neo, Morpheus and the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar (as depicted in the films).
Scenes shot during the filming of the main feature show up as cut scenes in Enter The Matrix and divulge more character development (such as Niobe's reasons for volunteering the Logos to return to the Matrix). Enter the Matrix also depicts Agent Smith's takeover of Mega City and the events that lead to the stranding of the Logos in the real world, as referrenced at the beginning of The Matrix: Revolutions.
Gameplay consists of third person shooting and martial arts along with three driving sections, the game is also notable for having a "Hacking" mini-game which could be used to enter cheats and unlock Easter Eggs.
