You really don't need to finish the other 9 parts of your list. Just copy and paste the Spin Doctors to all of the other ones.

Personally, I dig this one a whole lot. Probably a byproduct of all those hours sunk into GTA III.

I hope GiantBomb is paying you for this A+ content.

Better yet: just make everything "number 1", à la Max Temkin.

Can't wait for Spin Doctors: Rock Band on next generation consoles!

Two Princes is probably number one on the list of songs I hate.

This for its drama and simplicity.

This is great, I've heard that a couple of the surviving members of the Spin Doctors are active members of Giant Bomb.

I'm glad the community at large knows where you stand on these important issues.

@greggd: My GTAIII experience boils down to ~40% main campaign, ~60% driving around listening to the radio (mostly Lazlow, though).

Honestly, this is just what I expect from this site now.

This is why we need a Drumsmith game. Not to knock Rock Band drums, but we need a generation of people who can perform the opening fill from "Two Princes" on command.

In fact, we just need a Spinsmith game (mandatory in every household), so that any gathering of four or more people could spontaneously turn into a performance of "Two Princes". I guess they could perform "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" as well, but why?

... I also just discovered that they put out a new album this year. That's craaaaazy.

The kid with the Rolands had that snare way too tight. Sounded like a marching band up in that piece.

EDIT: I'm pretty curious if "Maps" is gonna show up on this list.

Could not agree more, although I'd still give Spin Doctors the edge for number one.

That song will be stuck in my head for the rest of my life now. My life will be a short one, as I'll be jumping out the nearest window. If that doesn't work when I land I'll use the shards of broken window glass to stab myself in the parts of the brain that deal with memories and music.

Hi Eric,

Don't listen to those spider co-habitating neighbors of the Antarctic. Come here, to us, to lovely Iceland! You need search no further. We put both the 'fun' and 'ding' in funding! There are economically prosperous time ahead. Just this morning, one of our largest ships caught FIVE fish, and it should take us no more than three months (given that Finnur the Troll, our one true deity, doesn't abandon us) to convert those into actual, digitized currency. You read that right! We are down with the internet.

Why go to the bottom (almost) of the world when you can join us at the top (almost) of the world!

Takk!

@pope: It's not really that surprising. A LOT of bands from the early-mid-90's are still around and making new music and touring. If I'm not mistaken, Spin Doctors only disbanded sometime in the early 2000's, and reformed sometime around '05 or '06 and have been together since.

I can't speak for the second-in-command of #TeamBrad here, but for someone like myself whose entire knowledge of the Spin Doctors consists of their first two singles, it's absolutely insane that they're still around. I was fully expecting to find that they were a two-hit wonder and went off to become session musicians and pastry truck drivers once they discovered that their sheer 90s-ness made it physically impossible for them to continue after the decade ended.

@skyfire543: I hope before putting too much work into this that Pope understands that any "Best Opening Drum Fill" list is automatically rendered null and void if Dyer Maker isn't included. I hate to see him waste his time on a potentially fruitless endeavour. Also, despite the opening to When the Levee Breaks not being a "fill" most people will except (many will expect) it to be a candidate for it's shear beatiness.

I'll apologize in advance if I post in here too much but I'm kind of a big fan of opening drum fills :)

I know I'm up to like eight cents already but I gotta give two more because this is one that has always tickled me for some reason (14 seconds in):
