@JJOR64: I still prefer the other commentator that was there last night. Yipes is just a bit too OHHHH for my taste. Hopefully someone else comes in for SF.
@TruthTellah: Some one will for sure, Yipes has a decent M Bison, but he doesn't really play Street Fighter anymore.

It's amazing to me that after Fchamp won, my first reaction was to spit on my computer screen. I've never in my life thought about doing that before.
Luckily, cooler heads prevailed.
Hey, at least he finished the job without using Phoenix. It was all pure Dormammu, Magneto, and Dr. Doom gameplay. I was rooting for Infrit, but FChamp has trained a lot over the past year and he showed that he deserved that trophy.
This was an interesting year. KOF13 grand finals were definitely the highlight, even though I was pulling for Bala to win. Marvel was a clusterfuck, AE felt anticlimatic watching Infiltration run a train on everyone (sad to see Dieminion go out quickly to Gamerbee). While I didn't watch the pool play, SC5 had a great top 8. Dissapointed to see Perfect Legend repeat MK, and I'm pretty indifferent on SFxT as a whole.
Story of EVO 2012: UPSETS.
KOF 13 was the best finale. Infiltration's Akuma was meh, UMVC3 was meh, and Street Fighter X Tekken has almost no Tekken characters and WAY too many Ryu's. MK was disappointing to see Perfect Legend win again with Kung Lao, and I really dug the VF 5 match, even if it was heavily lop sided.
Whaaat. I thought Infiltration's Akuma was a fucking beast. So aggressive with those focus dash forwards.

Top 5 EVO moments:
5. Infiltration obliterating everything in his path.
4. Infrit pushing Champ to the limit.
3. Super Turbo Tournament of Legends.
2. King of Fighters.
1. MAME SPIDER LETS GO
Great list.

I am inspired to watch those Mame Spider matches on Youtube now. Thanks for the reminder!
I was sad to see Dieminion get struck down by GamerBee so quickly, but not surprised since that matchup [v. Adon] is ridiculously difficult for Guile. It was nice to see a wide variety of players from different countries in Top Eight, but was disappointed when the weaker characters were shut out by higher tier characters, especially since I wanted to see some upsets. Infiltration's play was awesome, but a bit anticlimactic since everybody he faced he completely, and quickly, wiped the floor with them. So overall, very enjoyable, but it felt a little too predictable and one-dimensional once the unknowns started getting knocked out. As I mentioned, I wanted to see some upsets, and I didn't really get that.
KoFXIII and UMvC3 were infinitely more exciting than the SSFIVAE Finals this year, hands down.
I'm just sad that SSFIV was such an anti climax. Infiltration and Gamerbee made everyone look pretty free, and the crowd was even kind of low key. That being said, the KoF Grand Finals and a large part of the Marvel Top 8 was REALLY hype and fun to watch. SCV got fairly exciting, SFxT was as dumb as expected, and MK was hard to watch with the chat just spamming "wow" over and over again. Overall, it was a pretty good show this year, with some really awesome low tier players getting really far.
......Though this is still the best part for me http://i.minus.com/i6KFWnapcCjuP.gif

YES horsehead guy!
I still don't really get the hype behind KOF which seemed kinda boring to me but I thought that Japanese Tira player In SC5 really tore stuff up. I don't know much about SC5 but watching him play made me want to play it which is always a good thing - especially since the guy apparently played some crazy ass low tier character that everyone claims is garbage that somewhat randomly changes stances and takes damage from her own attacks, and he won EVO with her. Thats what it's all about.
Also my heart broke a little when I saw Combofiend and Mike Ross get completely bodied in SFxT since I thought that was Mikes new jam.
I'm always a little sad when EVO comes to a close. It means that there wont be anything that hype for a while.
Regardless, this was a damn excellent tournament. I caught the end of KOF which was amazing. Marvel was popping! AE almost went by too fast. Just amazing stuff across the board.

KOF XIII's finals were AMAZING! Really surprised me and I was rooting for Bala all the way!
That final was easily the best of the whole scene.

I was rooting for Bala, too, but Mad KOF fought back hard and earned it. It was quite fun to see though.
Yeah it was a good EVO overall this year. The best bits I can remember seeing on SSF4 (at about 7:15am) was (can't remember who playing) - Guile getting stunned and quickly recovering - The Raging Demon setups - The Raging Demon setup when Balrog's (boxer) Ultra was just about hitting Akuma and he does the Ultra Raging Demon I'm gonna re-watch the KoF when I get the time.

@MethodMan008: Oh I just meant SF, but OK then.
SF: Infiltration.
Marvel: F. Champ.
ST: Daigo.
MK: Reo.
You're probably right about KOF and SFxT. I only know one SC player and I think he's out.
Edit: We miseed Daigo, Latif because of the Playstation All Stars nonsense. You have got to be kidding me.
Oh well, I went two for two on the main games. Should have bet more than £2.50.
Overall it was an amazing event as always. There really is nothing quite like it. I don't think anyone could have predicted beforehand that the highlight would have been KOF.
Kind of a shame that the SFIV top 8 ended up being a bit underwhelming with all the crowd favourites going out so quickly, and Infiltration outclassing everyone so easily, but thats just how it goes sometimes.

^Sadly I wasn't there to watch, but I do believe AE has more hype that Marvel most of the time
AE had no hype at all this year it was ridiculous, the room was silent, and the stream viewer count was like the third highest (as in, the third after SF X T and SC5...). Now, one could argue that it was really late and people were tired and spent after the marvel final, but still, come on
That Tekken Tag demo just killed the stream, some 25k people left when that started. No one would have thought that KoF was going to be so damn exciting.

@Undeadpool: and you said it on twitter. :P
What can I say? I'm all about consistency! And not syncing ANY of my profiles to one another!
@JJOR64: You'd go mad from lack of sleep...but it'd be worth it.
I feel like its going to take me a few days to recover from all that. The FGC has come so far. EVO has become such an incredible event, and we really should be so god damn thankful for all the hard-working heroes like Mr. Wizard, Spooky, Haunts, all the commentators, the Cannon brothers et al for holding it down. They're all doing it out of love for the community and its just beautiful to see when it all comes together. Just seeing Seth choking up at the end there sums up why we're all here.
That was my EVO moment.
Finals rankings for me: UMVC3 > KOF13 > VF5 > SSFIV > Getting punched in the nose > SF x Tekken > Losing your house > Losing a kidney > Mortal Kombat
SSFIV semis and quarters were great but the finals were hypeless, though Infiltration's Akuma was insane. MK takes it again for the most boring to watch game ever, it was funny when that guy went to move list to do a fatality and then dropped it. LOL. Aside from that I genuinely don't get how people enjoy watching that game, no troll.
Some of the funnest time I've had watching competitive anything. Just wish it didn't run so late where I'm at so I could've watched it all.
Edit: Have no idea how to post a gif on here properly, but this and KOF finals were probably my highlights.
Of course in an ideal world Combofiend, the people's champ and crowd favourite would have defied the odds and destroyed Filipino Champ (who earned his victory 100%, but man...) and Daigo would have rolled back the years, unleashed the beast and reclaimed his title, but you can't have everything. And hey, there's always next year. I'm already looking forward to it.
