    Excitebots: Trick Racing, Nintendo's next whimsical Wii racer, is like Excite Truck... only with robots. Robots that mostly look like bugs, apparently. Oh yeah, and it has online multiplayer, too, something the previous game decidedly lacked. Nintendo sent out a few screenshots of the online mode today, and you can tell they're definitely online because, hey, list of player names on the side! Also, I would like to point out that ladybug has a hammer coming out of it. I'm curious to see if this has more of a Mario Kart sort of vibe, with the ludicrous weapons and car designs and all.

    Here's the pitch Nintendo sent along with the shots.

    Six players can race online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in both Excite Race and Poker Race modes. If friends can’t join online, players can exchange ghost data via WiiConnect24™ and challenge their friends to outdo their most daring tricks. (Note that broadband access is required for online play.)

    I really hope this is good. I really enjoyed Excite Truck, but it could have been so much more. I hope this is that game that Excite truck should have been.

    It seems too like Excite Truck (which I have, and like) to interest me into a purchase. We'll see what people think of it when it comes out.

    Yeah, I was reading an interview on IGN about it.  That was one of my favorite things about Excite Truck.

    There's also the official website with some footage (if you missed the numerous other trailers and information presentations) and feature listings so you can see it doesn't really have a Mario Kart feel, it has an Excite feel.

    Also, I think that date is for Europe, and it's June for the US. I might be wrong.

    Also, the bots aren't all bugs, there's a turtle, a bat, a rat, and some kind of bird (I think) confirmed.

    And they all FUCKING TRANSFORM. They're TRANSFORMERS. YOU RACE TRANSFORMERS.

    Just without the licence and more crazy  ^_^;;

    I know, I loved listening to Down With The Sickness when I played Excite Truck.

    Online play, though, and it's only 40 bucks.

    I think it has enough to warrant a buy.
