Fable 2 is good? Is it Fact or Fable? 1

Fable 2 is a Western RPG from British based Lionhead studios, and a fantastic entry to the Xbox 360 library. I'm going to say this from the get-go, although the combat is not as deep as most RPGs (particularly JPRGs) this does not particularly detract from the Fable 2 experience. The main strength of Fable 2 is it's atmosphere. It tries (and succeeds) in creating a world which is reminiscent of classic European fairy tales, which is an interesting and diverse land to explore, different towns and...

Despite its flaws, a Ticket to Albion is worth the asking price. 3

Fable II is an extremely ambitious game. Its scope is rather enormous, and with a quick glance, Fable II looks like a grand palace of a video game. However, when you get a little closer, as with any grand construction, the cracks begin to show. The Game begins with you choosing to be either a Male or Female orphan and you are thrown straight into a brief exposition/tutorial sequence. In this, as in the Childhood sequence from the original Fable, you need to do odd jobs to get some gold. The sta...

Fable II was a huge improvement over the original but had faults. 0

Overall, I enjoyed Fable II more so than the original.  Most of the bugs were kinked out, the controls were fixed, the quests were better, etc.  I just had more fun with this game.  The map, while not great, was still improved.  The dog was an "ok" addition.  Could they have made this better? Obviously, but I think it was a fun experience.A few things that really annoyed me though were the bad fart and poop jokes.  They were lame in the first one and they're lame in this one.  I thought the stor...

    One giant fart joke 7

The original Fable was an interesting experiment, but ultimately didn't deliver on enough of its promises to have any lasting impact. When Fable II was announced, many (myself included) thought that the franchise's second outing would take the opportunity to right all previous wrongs. This proposition couldn't be farther from the truth. Fable II does nothing more than retread old ground, once again failing to deliver on its overly ambitious promises. The main selling point for Fable II is that ev...

Fable 2: See the Future DLC Review 1

The name of this DLC pack is very fitting. Why you ask, because the end looks at the future of Fable. This pack may not come with a lot of content but what it does offer is a chance to get back into one of the best games from last year and also see into the future of Fable as a series. If you are expecting a lot of content for 540 points (roughly £5/$7) then think again. It took me about two to three hours to complete and I was actually trying to explore and collect the statuettes and dyes lying ...

If you like RPG’s and own a 360, you need to have this game. Lets just put that out there. You’ve also most likely played this game but, if you have not, and fall into the category then please go purchase this right now. The game ran the gamut of emotions from pure joy to points where you just flat out feel ripped off. If you said it’s a 90, I’d agree. We spoke about this being the case for Star Wars Force unleashed…so..I was hoping for the DLC to fix some of these issues and it’s yet to be seen...

I am amazed this made it through testing. Honestly, I wasn't ready for this to be so... shambolic. So, so much is wrong with this, I'll have to section it all up.Issue 1: bugs! Now, my Fable 2 experience, compared to many other people, was pretty much bug-free. Not so this DLC. Opening the clothes/dyes menu now nigh-on crashes the game every time, I get terrible slowdown in any area that's populated by non-combatants, certain people have begun to become invisible (if I stand near where they shoul...

Provides more fun gameplay of a game we love. Nothing new though. 0

I'm not exactly sure about the future. I've seen every Back to the Future so I suppose I have some keen awareness of generic time travel principals.  You probably wont see me writing the "How to Time Travel" for Dummies, so Peter Molyneux the man we all love to hate probably wouldn't have hired me to create the latest DLC for Fable 2.  Good: I hate to list this as a good, but I will.  We get more Fable game play  which is never a bad thing. I'm not one to change things when it works just for ...

The review is in the video so if you came to this video for a review than you're in luck because the video is a review, they call it a video review, where the video reviews and video game, so if you like reviews as much as i like videos, than you'll enjoy this review that's in video form....

    Fable 2 - Review 0

Fable 2 takes you on an adventure like no other game has done before, is it enough to win the hearts of gamers this holiday season?Coming off the success of the original game, Fable 2 is a realization of everything Fable 1 was trying to be. It has a beautiful story of redemption as you are hit hard early in the game with the death of your sister. The game then quickly shifts to a story about revenge and more importantly how much you are willing to sacrifice along the way. The constant battle bet...

Fable 2 is pretty damn fun. 0

ProsSimple, though still quite involving combat that's as fun to play as it is visually impressive. Moral choices that make differences beyond having folk either love you or hate you. Terrific audio and visuals that do a good job of immersing you in this Fairy Tale. Lots of neat little side activities to do. A good amount of humor, both dark and more lighthearted. A good amount of interesting Albion history in it's books and many references to the first game which fans will appreciate. ConsCo-o...

Old Pete's back, and this time he brought you a puppy. 1

Before Fable 2 came out, I wasn't positive that I was going to want it, but as it came close to release time, I realized that I was going to play it, whether I waited on it or not.  Something about Mr. Molyneux just makes me want to play his games, if not for the sole purpose of being able to make fun of them if they don't live up to his fabulous standards.  Now, as the title of Fable 2 may suggest, this is the second Fable game, and for everyone out there that listened to Pete talk about the fi...

A fun and empowering, albeit familiar outing. 1

Fable II, much like its predecessor, is a game about choice; these choices in effect ripple throughout the experience, creating a myriad of different outcomes for both yourself and those around you. While the game nevertheless tells a very linear story and has in place all the usual restrictions of such choices usually associated with modern console RPGs, you’d be hard pressed to find an experience as rejuvenating, addictive and empowering as this one on the console market. Telling a story of ...

    Fable 2 gets quarantined 0

Fable 2 : An action/RPG hybrid from a developer best known for not really keeping promises. Fable 2 gets off easy as the only broken promise here is the lackluster co-op play.Story : A revenge plot involving an evil man who killed your sister trying to summon evil magic for a grand scheme. Nothing we haven’t seen before in these kinds of RPGs, though the solid voice-acting makes up for it in part. Fable 2 works best when it’s relishing in its decidedly British sense of humour, which you’ll pick ...

Somehow manages to be even worse than Fable 1. 0

I wasn't a fan of the original Fable by any measure, but I had heard enough good things about its sequel, that I went into Fable II with only the best of intentions. The game certainly makes a good first impression, just like its predecessor, with polished graphics, a stylish cartoon fantasy game world, and solid voice acting throughout. Everything else about Fable II, unfortunately, just falls off the rails. The overall storyline never gets its hooks into you. It starts flat, it continue...

    Fable 2 review 0

When I bought Fable II it cost me thirty bones I chose it over Fallout 3 which was still at sixty bones even though the games came out only eleven day apart. I don’t understand it’s low price. Fable II has a long story 7-11 hours depending on how you play the game and which quest you do. A lot of people have been ripping on the combat feature. It is a basic control scheme Y to shoot range weapon X to use melee weapon. I found it nice how that game has simple combat it made it fluid and simp...

Not only does it satisfy the core audience but the fiction..... 1

as well.....   It’s pretty nice to see developers continuing their world of fiction within down-loadable content. Not only does this satisfy the developers within the extent of an expansion pack but satisfy those whom hunger for more of the content of that specific game. The Xbox 360 Marketplace has been such a place to buy these down-loadable content with your Microsoft points. One of that down-loadable content is Fable II. Lionhead’s Fable II has been a satisfying sequel to its original Xbox b...

Role Playing At It's Best 0

That title pretty much sums up Fable 2 for the Xbox 360. A great role playing game that captures the essence of what it is like to be an adventurer in a lush world full of excitement and danger in every turn. When playing Fable 2, I felt like I was the character going around and deciding things that I know will impact the world down the line. I love the fact that you can choose to be evil or a saint; either way you will have a great time with the game. I personally tryed to go the ev...

Still doesn't live up to the hype 0

Ah Fable, the game that promises too much, and can never deliver on such grand claims. The first Fable just seemed like it was incomplete, it fell so short of the game that was promised, but it had a charm about it and you could see the potential was there.Enter Fable 2 and while this game is clearly a more polished, finished product, its inability to truly be the game that it sets out to be illustrates the fact that its ambitions are perhaps too great.I sunk a lot of hours into this game, and I...

when a game makes you think, “i might have liked it if i didn’t play fallout first,” it comes as a surprise that joystiq.com’s best of 2008 list(link) gave it the top recommendation. the firstfable was hyped as the greatest rpg ever to be sold, a huge world built upon promises that ended up failing to deliver. i never got a chance to play the first, and i don’t have an opinion of it to write anything here. i did finish the second, and i’m sure this feeling i have is the one many felt after playi...

Disappointment compared to the original 0

NOTE: I enjoyed the original Fable. While I didn't like the fact that in the original, each map felt small and the game world wasn't that open, I thought that the combat system was solid and that there were an adequate amount of sidequests in the game. I have played this game and Fable II right to the ending.I'll give my opinions on certain aspects of the game below, and a score out of 5 for each part. The game world/Sidequests - 4/5The world is more open, and by that, I mean that the areas are m...

Fable II: Good and bad 0

Fable II has a lot going for it. A huge world where everything can be bought from items and weapons to shops and houses. An alignment system that affects your looks and how people in the world react to you. An ability to choose the gender of your hero, buy clothes, dye them, style your hair, apply makeup and beards and so forth make a great customization tool for role-players. A social and relationships system akin to The Sims 2 where different emotions you reflect cause different results and ca...

My favourite Xbox 360 Game so far 0

The world of Albion has moved on since Fable: Lost Chapters (PC, Xbox), but this new adventure is a cut above. You start as a homeless boy or girl in the mist of Bowerstone Old Town, trying to get to Fairfax Castle. You do quest right at the beginning where you collect 5 gold pieces, but your choices you make will shape Bowerstone Old Town forever. As you become an adult you learn the 3 disciplines Strength, Skill and Will (where you collect experienced from creatures, like in the Fable). Your c...

Fable 2 for me personally, has been standing at the front of the que as to why I wanted a 360 and so far is the biggest highlight of the console still. Its amazing versatlity with how to play through your Hero's life is unprecedented and unbelievably open ended. It has alot of rough edges and some parts are pretty dated by 2008's standards, but weighing the good against the bad is like putting a chicken on the scales alongside 1990's Marlon Brando.Story-2/5While the game has got itself a substanti...

    Fable II 0

It's not often a game comes along that can move its player emotionally with deep poignancy and yet still be flat out hilarious and superbly thrilling. Fable II is one such game. It is a masterpiece, full of monster killing, quest completion, undercover espionage, and ultimately tells a simple little tale of corruption, betrayal, revenge and also friendship, companionship and love. The protagonist's (male or female, depending on player preference) struggle to destroy the corrupted monarch that to...

Peter Molyneux is famous for games with moral choice, and almost never delivering on all of his promises. With Fable II, Molyneux hoped to finally deliver on all of his ambitious promises, and in fact, he and his team at Lionhead really have.    Fable II tells your story as you see fit in many ways. While the main storyline doesn't change much, how events go about, how the world changes, and your own character's personality are all in your hands. The game begins in yor childhood, where you l...

The thing I carry away from Fable 2 is a good storyline that ended far before I wanted it to.  I was just playing along doing quests and its like, hey, here’s the last guy, kill ‘em and the game be over.  It was only like my third or fourth play session and I’m like, its over…  It can’t be over… damn, its’ actually over.I guess it’s my fault, I didn’t get into any of the side quests or try to do all the collecting, I’ve had plenty of that kind of stuff in other games.  I came looking for a good ...

Whether or not the original Fable lived up to expectations is still up for debate. Some people say it was exactly what they wanted, and some said it was "a great game, but it didn't live up to expectations". I would probably put myself in the latter group of people. However, Fable II is not only great, but it lived up to what I expected from it. This is, in my opinion, Peter Molyneux's best game, and he should be proud.Fable II is set in Albion 500 years after the original Fable took place. This...

Fable II is an example of what an RPG should be in today's market. The game expertly pulls off the choice between "good" and "evil".  The consequences are actually in the game, and mean more this time around than just appearance. The dog is an excellent addition to the game.  While it may not connect with every player, it definitely connected with me.  It also helps with finding different items and getting treasure chests.  All around the dog helps much more than a mini-map.Unfortunately, despite ...

    Review Written by Nook29 1

For those that don’t know, Fable 2 is an Action RPG, released exclusively for the Xbox 360 in October 2008. The game is the sequel to the original Fable, which was released in September 2004, on the Xbox, PC and Mac. I’d been looking forward to this game for some time. I played Fable on the PC a few years ago, and thought it was brilliant. It wasn’t perfect though, and despite Peter Molyneux singing its praises, it wasn’t quite as good as it could have been. When I first saw screenshots and vide...

Role playing meets the Sims 0

Having finished Fable II, it is clear that design team behind the game had multiple diverse goals. For one, the game tells the tale of a hero assembling a team of other heroes to fight a great evil in a dark tower. I'm sure you've heard that before.  Secondly and more positively, Fable II immerses the player in a fantasy version of the Sims where an unknown hero becomes the king of Albion by making friends and acquiring property. The third and strongest pillar of Fable II is its simple yet deep ...

Fable II is best described as an adventure game with RPG features, rather than a full-bodied RPG. Lionhead Studios have managed to create a wonderfully rich world to explore, and written a half decent story too. However, the real stand-out feature of Fable II is the way in which the game makes you really care for your Hero and dog companion. Very few games have managed to achieve such emotional depth. It elevates Fable II to be one of the best games of 2008.    ...

Not Perfect But Getting There.. 0

IntroductionThe first Fable was a good game, and fortunately so is this next instalment in the series, the main issue with both these titles arises from one thing, their creator. Peter Molyneux is as most of the gaming world has realised by this point extremely good at over-hyping his titles to impossible levels and then fail to actually deliver. Yes Fable 2 isn't a bad game, but after all of the hype it's clearly a game that does not live up to it's expectations.Story & CharactersUgh, well...
