I don't have any love for the Fable series except for 2 and even that is stretching it. This, Crackdown and Dynasty Warriors are the series that baffle me in terms of how popular they are.
meh, got gifted the PC version by someone on here and I'm sure it'll be exclusive to the XB1.
And not looking to buy one of those anytime soon
The first post says 360. Did you scroll down to comment with your eyes closed?
The changes could be more substantial than just upressed textures.
seems like they don't know what to do with the series if they are going to just remake the first game.

The video implies it's just an HD port, not a full blown remake like what Nintendo are doing with the Windwaker.
But I think a remake would make sense too. The series has been passed to new developers (mostly). Starting with a remake before going on and doing another sequel makes some amount of sense, like what they did with Halo.

The developer is still Lionhead. The directer is a different one.
Oh wow, fable 1 came out in 2004, it doesn't feel that long ago, I can't remember if fable: the lost chapters had wide screen, I should buy that on steam or something cause I probably can't find my disc, if it's widescreen on PC you can probably up the resolution so it looks HD. I'm still waiting for fable 2 on PC, where the fuck is that?

The Jack of Blades model implies to me that it is a new art assets and not just an upscale.
@generiko: I assumed that was just for the trailer. Remake and HD remake are two very different terms. If it was a full remake, surely it wouldn't be a 360 game?
Why not Fable Heroes 2?
Seriously though, Fable 1 was a fine game but I really don't need a remake. Good for those who want it I guess but I pass.
I loved the first Fable, but I'd prefer a Fable 4.
Or a shorter XBLA game set in the first Fable era.

I doubt they would spend time on that model if it wasn't also in the final product. The video is also available in 1080p, so it could be a 360 & One title? I don't know, but it doesn't make sense to tease an up res.
I don't get why people want HD remakes of all those games. People are angry when they drop BC, but when they start shoving HD remakes as a quick cash grap as a result from the neglected support for BC, they sing praises about how awesome this is.
I get it when they do it right, like Halo Anniversary for instance. Using 360 models and textures and applying it to the halo 1 gameplay. Even the music was re-recorded. But when they upscale a PS2/XBOX texture, that feels cheap.
If you want your HD remake, go and install an emulator. With a bit of patience all our XBOX and PS2 games will be emulated, just like with the NES, SNES, GENESIS, GBA, GBC, DS, etc.
Until than, enjoy the new stuff ;-)
You know what, I would probably buy and play a HD version of Fable:TLC, since I loved that game and imagine I probably still would despite its myriad quirks.
But I guess it will fall to pricing and platform. I will not budge if it's AUD$80 out of the gate like most games, just like I happen to for most games these days.
@pop: Pretty certain that the Fable: TLC on Steam is 4:3 only. I also don't think it has any controller support, which sucks.

I'd say there's a pretty good precedent for HD remakes being $15-$20
I'd be a lot less interested if it was for the Xbone, but if it's for the 360? Fuck it, I'm in, loved the first one.
I would hope so. I just played it last month for PC and the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. If they can make the combat more like 2 and 3, that will be a huge improvement
I loved Fable II, but I never played the first. I believe it's time to rectify this horrible mistake.
Sweet, I remember the wait for the original Fable, back when it was being previewed I had not yet learned that Molyneux is a dreamer who overreaches when he designs, so like many others my expectations were severely out of whack when it finally came out.
This update looks like it's making it so damn fresh that I may be able to go back and have that first time experience with realistic expectations. I'm pretty damn stoked about that.
This will probably be my final Xbox 360 purchase. It's kind of weird, considering Fable was my first Xbox 1 purchase as well.
I never got that far in to Fable 1 despite completing the second game, some sort of annoying glitch occurred while playing it and I lost a lot of progress and never got back to it in the end. It's cool to have a reason to go back to it especially if it's got improved graphics and other tweaks so I may give this a look.
