    Looking like a cross between a horseshoe crab, a spider and a snake, this parasite stage of the Xenomorph is built for stealth. Able to crawl on most surfaces, it's raison d'etre is to attach itself to a host body's oral cavity and impregnate the digestive tract with an egg. After completing this, the facehugger dies.
     
    After a relatively short period, so does the host.
