After receiving the house in Megaton or Tenpenny Tower, do you really ever need to go back to a doctor except for curing radiation? I always just fast travel to my house and then sleep if I need to heal.

They're nice in the early game, but are outclassed very quickly as you progress.

Once you get the house upgrade that adds the health station, you'll never need them again.

I think I used doctors about twice through the whole game and the three DLCs I played and even then only for curing radiation.

Used them to cure radiation and buy med packs. Buying med packs was a key thing. So to answer you're question, they do still remain useful, but not for actually being a "doctor." Really more just for being a vendor!

Addiction healing is really all they are good for. 
 
And why is it that half the doctors in the wastes are total jerks?

If I were a doctor in those conditions, I'd be a jerk as well.

I hoard Rad-Away and Stimpacks so have NEVER used a doctor in any of my playthroughs.

I rarely use doctors, and when I do use them it's only for curing addicting and radiation poisoning.

I only used a doctor in the very early levels. Once I got my own house and bed, I never had to use another again. I came across so many stimpacks and rad-aways that I was practically pissing healing fluids. :-)

This the first thing that came to my head when I saw the title, and they are far from useless.

I think I used a doctor's help once, and that's it. They want too many caps.

I don't remember using any of them... Ever.

I never used them.  Even early in the game I had enough stimpaks and RadAways for my needs.  After getting deep into the game, I would have like 100+ stimpaks.

Exactly what i said to myself when i saw the post.  The only doctor with any somewhat importance was in Rivet City that i recall. "
