And more.

http://www.giantbomb.com/guides/fallout-3-megaguide/645/

Me, systech, and Jayge started it up on December 17th, got it turned around in 3 weeks. Brought in natetodamax as a hired gun to help us close it out, and here we are.

This includes:

  • Main quest walkthrough
  • sidequest walkthrough (including unnamed sidequests)
  • Unique weapons information (still in progress)
  • Achievement guide
  • DLC for later
  • Bobblehead locations
  • Perks by level
  • SPECIAL and skill breakdown and analysis
  • Guide to all available companion characters
  • Weapons schematics locations and required components

So yeah, use it please, and leave comments or feedback :) We'll be finishing up the weapons section shortly and continuing to revise any problems that come to light.

Awesome stuff guys.  Really great guide from what I've been looking at so far, I still can't imagine writing a guide for a game like Fallout 3.

#4 Posted by TheGamerGeek (2485 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

Holy shit-a-toilet-seat that's a big guide.

#5 Posted by Jayge_ (10222 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

It's not really complete yet in terms of totally filled out sections not related to quests... but yeah. We'll fix that up.

#6 Posted by MB (9885 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

I'll pin this to the Fallout 3 section only.

I doubt you're that retarded. So you must be just trying to be an asshole.

Either way, a loser is you.

You obviously didn't even look at it. If you want to be a jerk, that's cool, but I would prefer if you were educated on what we actually did.

this looks great guys... really well done. I like that your questing segments are very easily laid out.  awesome.

Don't act like you're "posting factual information" in a vacuum.  You're trying to undermine the guide.

We have a guides feature on the site for a reason.  It's a help to the community and a necessary component to flesh out the user-side of the site.

#25 Posted by NoDeath (793 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

Ive already put a decent 50 hours into the game and this guide will probably help me put in another 20.
Also @Hexpane, I knew instanty which wiki you were refering to as I've been using it myself but regardless of the intent, your post read as if you were discounting the guide as rubish when from what I've read it rivals many "proffesionaly" done guides. so could everyone please stop the brewing flame war before it escalates.

#26 Posted by Thrawn1 (1340 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

i'm going to post and pretend that I have something meaningful to add to this argument....oh wait, it's the internet. nevermind.

Agreed. We mainly wanted people to give feedback through this... Oh, and people saying "good job!"
#28 Posted by Jayge_ (10222 posts) - 4 years, 4 months ago

Meh. The guide is much easier to use and streamlined. I myself used fallout.wikia and continue to use it as I play through the game (I got 1000/1000 gamerscore tonight, woo!), so I understand Hexpane's sentiments. Doesn't stop him from sounding like a douche though.

Flaming ends HERE.

If it doesn't, face my wrath. Guides and wiki pages complement each other. Some information will likely be in both areas, but that is to make all sources more effective.

Same here.  I'm really interested in the guide.  I've tried Wiki and it's *alright* but ...   So anyone have any ideas why a couple of us can't open it?

I bet your not playing the PS3 version or perhaps you are and happen to be kind enough to deceive the public of it's problems.

So your saying that PS3 owners and trophy whores are idiots? or was that a rhetorical question?
#43 Posted by Capum15 (3782 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago

Whoa, quite a few old threads being resurrected lately.

Or is this common and I just haven't noticed?

I totally could've used this guide back when I first started playing and didn't know anything.

#44 Posted by Systech (4076 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago
@Alphiehyr: No, don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say anything about trophy whores. The PS3 version, from the time that this was written, was in quite poor shape. I don't know if that's changed since its release, but it was the situation that we were in. We either owned the PC or Xbox versions because we wanted to play the game for fun. It wasn't until later when we decided to undertake a guide... Oh that, and none of us had PS3's.

A fitting entry for Fawkes.

This guide is epic. Great job on this. As a Fallout 3 fan this has my Crakey stamp of approval.
