I just had to let it out >_<
Fallout3 is the best game I ever played
It was my GOTY that year, and it certainly did not feel like it would be after the first few hours, or even the first dozen. Too many little broken quirks, nothing propelling me forward. It was only after having put 80, 90 hours in and looking back on every memorable moment, questline, and the entire world that Bethesda created that I was able to truly appreciate it. Really stuck with me, I felt like I was there in the wasteland, changing peoples lives and situations in meaningful ways due to my actions. Combat also did not feel great until I reached level 10 or so, but after that it was quite fun. It's a slow burn for sure, but one that really resonates once it hits.
" could someone convince me why this game is so amazing? no offense to you or anything, but i just could never get into this game. i played about an hour of it, and it didn't really catch my attention all that much. "

"I Hated the first hour of it . It made a terrible first impression to me but when I got out of the vault and out of Megaton I was hooked for dozens of hours .
It has a huge world and every area you go to has it's own characters, storyline and adversaries . You could just lose yourself in this world and as you move along you get better with awesome weapons ( alien weapon ,anyone?) and perks . When people say they hae spent +100 hours into it that should give you an idea .
I'm not alone in playing it recently! I have punched bears to death and pitted scorpions against robots, and that's just dicking around. The set stories are engaging and the random events around the wasteland are stunning. Just walking is exciting. You won't know what you'll find.
