All I want to do is deliver this letter to this group of people in this damn town called Snefeu or some weird name. After FINALLY getting there many deaths later (dogs, raiders, etc.) the marker told me I was right where I was supposed to be...BUT THERE WASN'T A TOWN! The map said I was at the town, but I saw nothing. It was night time out of course, because this game seems to hate me. I was walking around trying the people to deliver the letter to, and it suddenly said "Quest failed. The people of Snefeu see you as hostile." 
 
WHAT!? I didn't even fire my gun! I walked 4834398434343 miles only to fail for no reason at all!? These RPGs are so confusing... 
 
Can anybody help me out? Again, this is my first RPG and I'm new to everything. I'm a level 4 and I have a decent amount of ammo...decent, not great.

You need to stop playing this game. You are doing it wrong. And btw, the mission you get in Arefu is going to kick your ass if you can't even manage to figure out the town is on the bridge by yourself.

To make it more clear... you were directly under the town of Arefu. The town resides on top of half of a freeway. Start climbing up the freeway on-ramp near that barn to get there.

Angryfaceguy. If you want to blow through the game and just have fun (and rack up trophies too) just go here: 
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/save/939932.html and use the "Level3 (with scrap metal exploit)" save file. Put it on a USB key, (figure out the right file names to go through on google), uninstall you game data for Fallout (top folder in XMB), play the saved game that you copied over to your PS3, let it autolevel you to 19, save the game. Exit the game, reload it and install the update, and badabing, you are set, and can sell an inifnite amount of scrap metal to the black dude in megaton for unlimited bottle caps and EXP. Super easy way to blow through the game. Also, you can set the difficulty level in the settings menu.
