Dev's said you don't need any previous Fallout experience to get into this one.

But the previous games are really good if you ever get the chance to play them.

Fallout 1 and 2 are well worth a play through if you are looking to kill some time.

i just recently got my hands on fallout 1 & 2

I believe you dont NEED to play them, but alot of the humor in the 3rd game will go right over your head.

Trust me, Play the first two games.

I really didn't like the old Fallouts, but they seem to have a huge following so I'd at least give them a go.

You could also use the Fallout restoration patch. I don't know if the first one has one but Fallout 2 had it and it basically fixed some bugs and added some deleted content from the original Fallout release.

I think you should at least try them.

The humour is pretty wierd but its still quite funny though I highly suggest you strap yourself to the chair cos this RPG needs alot of patience once you got used to the RPGs in the present. Once ya get the groove of it you'll love it!

Am i the only one here who loved Fallout: Tactics?

You could play the previous Fallout games if you want to, they are all good games except for Brotherhood of steel. All the fallout games have more or less different characters and story, so it's not necessary for you to play the previous Fallout games to understand and enjoy Fallout 3.

i also loved tactics, but i think endogene might have not counted it because i dont think its really concidered "canon" to the series. although with the brotherhood of steel being in washington it would appear that it is now part of the continuity

more because tactics didn't really rely on story and more on combat unlike fallout 1 and 2. Myself i really liked it but not all those who played fallout like tactical combat.

I see, well from what I'm seeing of Fallout 3 didnt think I'd have to play the others.
